Many chains from past years/cycles are now completely dead: • Harmony: $1.4b -> $1.7m (-99.9%) • Aurora: $1.3b -> $14m (-98.9%) • Moonriver: $380m -> $2.4m (-99.3%) • Canto: $205m -> $8m (-96.1%) • Evmos: $12m -> $300k (-97.5%) Polygon TVL also down 92% from $9.9b back in 2021 to $770m and the Polygon zkEVM (which was very hyped a while ago) at only $6m TVL (h/t @DefiIgnas) Many more TVL charts will look like this over the coming years.

@pet3rpan_ It depends on what business is running the protocol For example, for the DEX it is absolutely unimportant, their main indicator is trading volumes But for the lending protocol - TVL is of decisive importance

The goal has always been for the Foundation's role to diminish in importance over time. To be the tinder box that allows a decentralized ecosystem to bud and flourish. From where I stand, phase one of that goal has been achieved. Today, the torch is carried - not by a handful of powerful entities - but by a diverse set of globally distributed ecosystem participants from validators, to core client teams, to DeFi applications and beyond. Solana has emerged as one of the first blockchain platforms where developers can focus on building great products without being burdened by concerns about scalability. This represents a fundamental paradigm shift. The era of debating infrastructure is ending, and soon—if not already—the conversation will pivot entirely to the application layer: acquiring users, creating revenue-generating protocols, and integrating decentralized systems into the fabric of everyday life. With this in mind, the time has come for me to explore new ways to contribute - whether that means as a builder, capital allocator, advisor, or something else entirely. This may feel like a conclusion – but it’s just beginning. The frontier of decentralized applications is more wide open than ever before, and the battle to bring these technologies to the world is far from won. The best builders are here. The best applications will be built here. And the future belongs to @Solana. Jobs Not Finished.
