It’s wild how drastically he changes his visual style to meet the moment. From the Met Gala to a Dwarkesh podcasts, he knows how to appeal to disparate audiences.

Somehow stumbled upon a first edition John Keats from 1820, the year before he died. Immediately bought it. Seller likely had no idea what they had due to the rebound cover. Here’s one of the most famous apologies in English publishing history on its original page.

Buy scarce assets, hold forever.
Joshua Kushner@JoshuaKushner

Today we announce Thrive Eternal, a permanent capital holding company that will be concentrated in a small number of assets that we can own and steward over many decades. Across Thrive Capital and Thrive Holdings, we are building and investing through a moment of exponential change; backing emerging technologies, the infrastructure that powers them, and the businesses they can transform. Increasingly, we see a fourth category. These are assets with qualities that cannot be replicated by technology. Iconic franchises and cultural institutions rooted in tradition, identity, and shared experience. In a world shaped by abundant intelligence where creation scales and distribution fragments, we believe they will matter even more. Thrive Eternal is built on the belief that the most enduring of these assets share common characteristics: they benefit from long-term stewardship, they compound through cultural resonance, and they are enhanced by technology rather than displaced by it. Our work at Thrive has always been informed and inspired by a deep appreciation for product, brand, and the ways in which consumers form lasting relationships with the things they love. We have been building towards this for a long time. Our first partnership is expected to be with the San Francisco Giants - an institution built on more than a century of shared identity and community, and among the most iconic sports franchises in America. We have reached an agreement, subject to league approval, to acquire an ownership stake. We feel privileged by the opportunity to be long-term partners to the Giants.

BMW has somehow mastered the art of making cars look absolutely hideous just for that same car to grow on you by the 3rd time you see it.

This is a glimpse of big changes ahead of us. If you’re betting on big central models you should think twice. I run the exact same setup (M5 MacBook, qwen3.6-27B, pi, ollama) and while its not as fast or good as one of the big central models, it’s past the line of “cool demo” into “truly useful.” Kind of where the big frontier models were in late 2025. In ~24 months we might have local models that are fast and good enough for most tasks.
Julien Chaumond@julien_c

This is where we are right now. And i’m not gonna lie it feels pretty magical 🧚‍♀️ Qwen3.6 27B running inside of Pi coding agent via Llama.cpp on the MacBook Pro For non-trivial tasks on the @huggingface codebases, this feels very, very close to hitting the latest Opus in Claude Code, or whatever shiny monopolistic closed source API of the day is. In full airplane mode. Most people haven’t realized this yet. If you have, it means you have a huge headstart to what I call the second revolution of AI. Powerful local models for efficiency, security, privacy, sovereignty 🔥

If Sam Bankman-Fried did nothing illegal, he might have been the best VC in history What SBF bought vs. what it's worth today: • Cursor: ~$200K → ~$3B (+1,499,900%) • Anthropic: ~$499M → $82.3B (+16,400%) • SpaceX: ~$200M → ~$15B (+7,400%) • Solana: ~$189M → $5.1B (+2,600%) • Robinhood: $612.5M → $4.9B (+700%) • Genesis Digital: $1.17B → $3.5B (+200%) Had he done nothing wrong, he'd have an estimated worth of $114,000,000,000 today Instead he's tweeting from Federal Correctional Institution

my main contention with the Apple leadership transition is that John just doesn't have CEO physiognomy. he just doesn't look like a CEO. he looks like exactly what he was, an SVP of hardware engineering

Today marks my anniversary at Cursor. When I joined, it felt like we were just a few dozen kids running around to put out ten new fires every day, hopeful that our focus and wits could transform an industry. Over the past year we've grown the company (and revenue) more than tenfold; improved our agent to work for hours or even days; launched our own frontier model, Composer; and defined a new category that the biggest players are now chasing. Here's to the next chapter!
