As someone that also (used to 😭 she’s still not updated) has a very pale char I recommend using body blush on very low opacity! They’re usually quite saturated because they don’t show up on deeper skintones otherwise, so for very pale ocs just setting them at like 30-40% opacity or even lower works best 🫶

i once used a body blush on odile and she looked like one of these tourists that come to the beaches in spain who are allergic to sunscreen 😭

Make sure to never stream with mods enabled, if someone reports you it may result in a ban (and some weirdos really don’t like seeing mods so being reported isn’t unlikely, sadly).

I'm currently working on a viera ear/tail mod that has multiple different texture options for vanilla ears to help color/texture match with different modded hairs Since ears 1-4 all use different textures i will be working on them 1 by 1. Im focusing on fem models first

As someone who has been creating for both SL and XIV for years now I wanted to make a small thread explaining why porting from SL is pretty much always considered stealing. Unlike in XIV bringing your own work into SL is not considered modding in the first place.

@eusexua444 @windupchai It’s not really feasible for it to be the same, no. Even if the mesh was vanilla (which often eyelash meshes aren’t, especially big ones for fluttery lashes), you can’t make 3D models exactly the same without snapping verts (so, tracing) if you deform them.

@vivi_mods @windupchai EXACTLY!!!!! i had the lashes from that sculpt and borea up at the same time everything was in the same place, same tri count, same everything it was so disheartening. but i could also be wrong that’s entirely feasible! or was until it had been discussed w her

can we also highlight the use of other people’s meshes and works being put behind a paywall by someone else 🫩 just because my dear sepha left the community does not mean you get to slap her lashes on your sculpts and put them up for $20 a piece

@eusexua444 @windupchai Aw man :/ I wish people would just ask before they decide to use other people’s meshes etc. under the assumption that it would be okay. It’s really not that difficult to get permission (or respect a “no”)

@vivi_mods @windupchai yes they did i checked in blender when they were released and spoke with sepha in dms on another account. she’s aware but obviously not a whole lot she can do rlly. the verts tris are the exact shape number

Also I may have exaggerated a bit saying “everyone pirates their clothes” cuz that would discredit those that actively choose to pay for them to support people creating more things. There’s definitely people that still pay for mods, but it’s much less than before. So it’s especially noticeable when you make any kind of more “niche” mod, because the percentage of potential buyers is just that much lower than before.

The answer is that people don’t actually pay for male mods (especially nowadays). The market is much smaller (not a surprise, fem miqo + fem aura take up a very large percentage of the player base) than for fem outfits and even fem outfits don’t really make any money atp. Everyone pirates their clothes nowadays. So if you have the choice between spending 30 hours making a fem outfit from scratch and earning like 60€ for it or spending 30 hours on a male outfit and earning 10€…. Well. You can imagine how that goes :/ People do have the skill to make amazing things but if no one is willing to pay for it and they don’t actually use any of it themselves (because most modders play fem chars) then there’s no incentive to make anything, whether paid or free.

im surprised that no one hasnt rly taken advantage of this very obvious demand in the paid mod market (obv theres prob a few, but its still a v small %)
