@annasiancole My daughter got diagnosed with Irlens 3 months before her exams. Knowing the school weren’t going to help she had private tuition, managed to get 5’s for English but was 4 marks off her 4 for maths. So frustrating and despite the hurdles got 7 GCSE’s but felt she’d failed!

There's got to be a better way than all the students who got 3s in ( for some of whom getting a 3 was a great achievement) opening their envelopes and saying "I failed." Sick of being part of a broken system that makes 'failures' out of a big percentage of our young people

@MiMi_North1 My daughter has no idea what she wants to do! I feel their year can be quite lost! They started high school in that Covid year! My daughter can’t even decide what she wants for dinner. I’ve told her to just do something she enjoys for now!

@MiMi_North1 My daughter got hers today, but I remember like yesterday her brother 7 years ago sat on the stairs having passed 3! He has no idea what he wanted to do but he’s now a Paratrooper and has done more in the last 4 years than we could have imagined!!

@dean1wg At 16 both my boys left school and went to a football academy. Within 6 months my eldest joined the army. 6 months later his brother joined as well! Youngest had been going to America to do a football scholarship! Now have a 16 yo daughter who has no idea whatsoever

@NatashaMDay I’ve had 3 kids, 3 c-sections and am nearly 50. Have accepted I’m never going to be my size 8 20 year old self anymore! And on holiday if you look around there are all shapes and sizes and we grew humans in our amazing bodies! You look great enjoy your hols 👍🏻

@anon_opin I don't understand why they don't open delivery only branches - stick them in a unit on an industrial estate and leave the normal ones for the customers they were originally built for

McDonalds has been ruined by delivery and touchscreen ordering. What was a hassle free family treat has turned into chaotic, long wait stood next to a bunch of aggressive delivery guys.

@DavidNautilus1 2/2 teacher.The last day she gave said teacher a present and a card with an apology for not being “a morning person” and putting up with her for 5 years! + older brother for 5 years before that! Teacher cried and daughter finally realised 30 kids on amorning may not be that easy

@Missymusician81 2/2 Irlens and we have said for years she is dyslexic. Confidence started to return once we knew how to tackle things, but so close to her exams! She will be fine and I support anything she wants to do. Eldest is now in the army and doing well despite only getting 3 GCSE’s

@niaandthepoems My daughter’s form tutor was my eldest son’s Head of year 6 years ago! My daughter apologised in her thank you for putting up with me card for not being a “morning person” 🤣 made her cry. Not long ago she bumped into my son on a night out!

Being Head of English is great and all, but my Year 11 tutor group left today and oof, seeing a bunch of kids grow up for 5 years one morning at a time? It’s the biggest privilege we have in this job. So proud to do it. Let’s big up form tutors.

I overheard a 16-year-old* this morning rejoicing at the fact that after today’s GCSE English Language exam, he never has to do English again. This makes me sad, as English Language/Linguistics is such a fascinating and useful subject. But the GCSE isn’t fit for purpose.

This is Lily. She has eaten a couch cushion, shredded countless throw pillows, destroyed six shoes, disassembled a broom, dug her own swimming pool in the backyard, and will do every command she knows only after she argues about it. Lily is 10 months old. All the love, laughs, and companionship she gives me makes me overlook the fact that she can be difficult. We’ll get through it together. #RIPCricket #FreshLovesPups

@cd_27_ Nearly 50 been driving since I was 17 no claims and I would say I’m a fairly safe driver! They wanted double this year and I laughed at them and asked them to justify it. Their words “you’re generally paying for other people” 🤦🏻‍♀️ went elsewhere still £100 more though 😬

@clhubes I started getting a cleaner when I was helping my mum who had been diagnosed with cancer. Ironically I was helping her to keep her house clean and looking after her so had no time to clean my own house! Carried on after she passed away and it’s the best money I could spend!

@JM_Sievert My eldest 2 are 15 months apart, I do t rember much of their early years as I worked full time and eldest was in and out of hospital. They are now 22 & 21 and those teenage years were another level of stress and tiredness 🤣

@stomababe I mean my boys are 22 & 21 and in the army, technically left home only ones on leave for the next month (at home!) and the other one is based half an hour away so guess what… comes home a lot 🤣 I worry about them a lot now! At least when they’re babies you know where they are!

So the general consensus is that babies don’t get any easier until they’re 25 and maybe have left home. Fabulous news 🤣
