This is a difficult tweet for me to send, but I want to thank the two ladies who comforted me in Dunnes Stores in Cornelscourt this afternoon. I was having one of my awful crying moments,which is a symptom of my MND. The hand of friendship helped me so much. Thanks.

In the excitement of the @Lionesses making a Euros final, it’s worth remembering that there are players in the WSL who have to pay for their own lunch,are being paid as little as £20k a year & have sketchy medical care. I hope clubs wake up & start treating their players better.

Tonight I am having to answer questions from my children who came across this on social media why their Daddy is on a bonfire to be burnt. This is not culture, it is a hate crime. Those within political unionism need to show leadership & stand up against this sectarian hatred
