@vjedzma Tbh I feel like the change she made to Madam Lan and Qingheng-Jun also makes no sense. Like even if u have mutual feelings 4 someone, if they locked u up, surely you'd be upset and disappointed? Like she willingly had kids knowing she'd barely be able to see them? Makes no sense

@babydianxia i obviously don't insist on my interpretation, but i've always seen lan parents' marriage as forced and abusive at least to some extent...and yeah i'm "western". i'll have to do a lot of rethinking now.

i'm seeing a pattern where asian mdzs stans all agree the revision makes it clear qhj and madam lan loved each other and it's western fans struggling way too much to accept it...and if i'm not wrong the 'popular' idea that qhj abused her was also a western fandom thing
