@tritlo Get yourself one of these! Bit expensive, but *way* nicer than the duct type units. No negative pressure from the exhaust air, and this also pumps condensate outside through that same hose.

Laittakaas jotain tappoHeviä ehdottelen mitä voisi töissä kuunnella. Jokaisesta Metallican, Iron Maidenin ja metalcore ehdotuksesta tulee blokkia.

This is just the audio equivalent of uncanny valley, especially with the fake/misplaced exclamations and tone of voice. Who could this possibly be for? What are we even doing here?

Just found out there are FM radio stations in Finland just blasting AI slop of two clankers pretending to have a conversation about various topics 💀

File extension for C/C++ files is not standardized, so technically you could use whatever you want. For example: .rs

@awesomekling I don’t have demand paging in my little kernel yet, but it’ll be so satisfying when I do get that working!

@turbofish_pk You are mistaken. I made this joke to him and he then asked if it was okay to post about it. No bad vibes here! 😌

@awesomekling @vkoskiv There is no need to be such an ass. He has to do something with his time. Fuck you.

Has anyone confirmed with the Artemis II crew if the ambient music really changes when entering the lunar sphere of influence?

@mbacarella Very relatable! I lifted some parameters from the linux floppy driver when I was getting mine going, but other than that it hasn’t been a particularly useful reference 😄

average linux kernel experience function abc() handles X. wait, it actually calls function __abc() to handle X, and that calls another function _asm_abc() to handle X, which then jumps to an assembly stub _abc_() to handle X, which then jumps back to C function __lastfunctionbroipromise_abc() to handle X

@lauriewired I’m working on a hobby kernel for my 486 PC so I’ll genuinely use this method for benchmarking going forward! I’ve been counting timer interrupts until now, but there are various issues with that approach. My scope is right there, just didn’t think to use it for this yet 😄

Another approach was to hook up an oscilloscope to the parallel port. Toggle a pin high before your code, and low after. Time accuracy would depend on well…how good your scope was. Still a common technique today for embedded stuff!
