Day 2 of 2 in TEA’s Literacy for All training. Great instructional tips during the day! We can’t forget to follow up word study instruction with reading connected texts so students can apply what they are learning. #LifeLongLearner

Spent day 1 of 2 in the Literacy for All training by TEA. New learning is 40% of reading instruction should be designated to word recognition and 60% to language comprehension. Also found the graphic on the growth of the reading brain interesting. #LifeLongLearner

A busy day for grades K-5 teachers as we spent the morning diving deep into writing instruction and the afternoon developing routines for responsive teaching. #GrowingTeachers

Day 2 of coaching grade 1 teachers in guided reading and grades 4 & 5 teachers in math. The highlight of my day was co-teaching a 4th grade math lesson! #GrowingTeachers

A great day of progress! Completed guided reading learning walks with 1st grade teachers, then coached them on a lesson. Got to follow up last week’s planning session with grade 4 math teachers by observing & coaching instruction. #GrowingTeachers

Has a very productive day yesterday working with 4th grade math teachers planning instruction. Started with a background building activity, then the gradual release of responsibility, & wrapped it up with an assessment piece. Can’t wait to it in action next week! #GrowingTeachers
