@samdotb @PeterZaitsev Got it. I guess it depends which problems you are trying to solve and which other issues you bump into while solving it (to the points of performance and complexity Peter mentioned). I could imagine “old” Subversion would perform even better.

@samdotb @PeterZaitsev Hey Samuel, interesting idea. I wonder if git was your first choice here? Have you considered other vcs options?

@PeterZaitsev Author here, the versioning is not in the critical path. Data is duplicated at insert time, you never have to join so you get strictly regular performance. But I agree it adds complexity, like any versioning system. Do you have any alternatives?
