I never thought this would be a radical opinion, but apparently it is. ANYBODY implicated by the Epstein files OR Epstein survivors should go to jail. Full stop. I don’t care about political party. I don’t care about wealth. Lock every single one of them up.

Hiccup in their life at some point, gets grade that isn’t what they wanted or expected, and struggle in some way. The thing that matters the most through it is to keep showing up. Keep showing up for your classes, you study schedule, and yourself.

As thousands of veterans students have started/ or are starting school soon, here’s my biggest piece of advice: resilience will get you further than “just” intelligence. Everybody that gets into vet school is smart. But over four years, everybody will experience a

Why is Microsoft office, outlook, etc the standard for everything when not a day goes by that they aren’t the most problematic applications? I want to search outlook for a message from a year ago? Good luck!

Probably needed a hug. Instead I chose a specialty where nobody outside of vetmed (and many in vetmed) don’t understand what I do 😭🙃

It is absolutely wild to me that in two more shifts I will no longer be a resident. I can’t even put into words the stress, the tears, the laughs, and the people that have shaped me in the last three years.

Got a massage for the first time in over 3 years. I’m a resident, so I saved for this. Before going I picked my preferences, which included “not talking.” My massage therapist asked what I did, I told her I was a vet. She then spent the next hour telling me how she hates vets 🙃

I think human health care professionals coming into a specialty veterinary hospital is fascinating because I always get one of 3 reactions: 1. “What do you mean you can’t do x, y or z in the middle of the night?” Think like CT on something limping but stable, etc

2. “Yes, of course, we will do anything you recommend. I don’t treat animals” but ask great questions, you can speak medical to them, etc or 3. “You can do an MRI (or dialysis, or major surgery) on a cat?? Who in their right mind would do that?” Yup. We have specialists

I was always told that if I worked hard I would one day be able to buy a house. At NO point was I told “if you work hard you’ll be able to afford a house but not be able to buy one because every house will have multiple offers and at least one will be cash.”

I think people should revisit what happened when the Smoot-Hawley tariffs were imposed….. fun fact, the senate website still refers to it as one of the “most catastrophic acts” in congressional history.

The older girls get in school, the more the lose interest in STEM unless they are immersed in it (per a few studies/surveys). Anybody want to take a guess what I have been trying to do with my nieces starting at a young age?

Degree” because pretty much every medical professional I know that has student loans can’t afford to pay them in residency. And there are so many jobs when starting out individuals can’t afford a normal repayment plan. It doesn’t mean those jobs aren’t needed in the workforce.

I find it absolutely fascinating that the same people that spout that “those that take out student loans should have to pay for them.” Are the same ones that are working to take away income based repayment. And don’t go telling me that those people “should have gotten a better

@ezchambers @TheMarieOakes @whatever They are in sterile attire. So it’s a live animal. First neuter. Probably their first. So while they absolutely should not take pictures like this, the context is different.

@whatever How sure are you of the context of this picture? Because she’s in sterile attire. Which isn’t usually used for a cadaver lab. It looks much more like a vet student post her first LIVE neuter.

@sdixitmd If what I’d described here is true, then that’s terrible. But she’s wearing a scrub cap, mask, gown and sterile gloves. Are we sure this isn’t a vet student after a neuter on a live animal? Because frankly, that’s what this looks like a lot more. Still inappropriate. But different

Our medical school had a remembrance ceremony at the end of human anatomy where medical students could share their thoughts and pay tribute to the people who donated their bodies so that we could learn. I still remember the reverence, sadness and gratitude expressed that day. This is the exact opposite of that moment.
