If you can ask your mortal Pastors and friends to pray for you, why are you offended when Catholics asks the Saints in Heaven to pray for them? Does your Bible not tell you that anyone who dies in Christ lives? The Saints in Heaven are way more alive than your most powerful pastors combined on earth.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli I DON'T know. As I've stated. No prayer is useless. Again we pray God has shown mercy. Why denounce ANY gift from God? God gave us so many tools in our arsenal against Satan. Why on wld we not accept them ALL? He has been so generous to us in this. We are one, big, happy family.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli It is in Purgatory where we "walk off" all of our sins to purify us so we are worthy to stand in Gods presence. In Purgatory we NEED the help of fellow Christians praying for to help us to the Beatific Vision. God never promised us a cake walk.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Our sins. HERE'S the Catholic rub...if we break the neighbors window...saying sorry isn't enough. We also must pay to fix it. If we renounce our sins on our deathbed, Purgatory is the pay back. Our souls must be perfect to enter Heaven. To Caths..."sorry" doesn't cut the mustard

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli We absolutely DO go to God Himself. There are VOLUMES & VOLUMES of prayer books with prayers to God. But again...Catholics are "all inclusive." The more prayer from more people the better! Nothing hinders us from those in Christ regardless of what side of the veil their on.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Those who have gone before us whose human bodies are dead but souls are still very much alive in Christ and we are to help each other until we are united. It comes down to your interpretation or teaching of scripture compared to a Catholic's.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Yes! Yes! At the 2nd coming "Dead in Christ"= those already in Heaven will rise first & those who are still walking on earth, in Christ, will be joined with them. How beautiful! Where does it say we cannot have a relationship with them UNTIL that time?

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17 (KJV): "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout... and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air." DEAD in Christ hello

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli So this particular verse, which you claim does NOT offer proof of prayers offered up to the saints in heaven, what IS its meaning? And by what teaching authority have you derived its meaning?

@Wombat11412 @HoldenCCole Being able to accept the factual, historical truths of humanity, cultures, society, politics of the times in which events took place and still 100% accept the supernatural gift of the Sacraments & belief in our faith in the Church Jesus left for us is what we are called for.

Christ did not leave us a book. He left us a Church. The Gospel was preached, the sacraments were celebrated, and the faith was handed on long before the New Testament was gathered into a single Bible. The apostles did not tell believers to rely on a text alone. They established communities, ordained successors, and entrusted the living teaching of Christ to the Church. Scripture is sacred and inspired, but it was preserved, recognized, and transmitted by the Church herself. Christianity was never meant to rest on private interpretation, but on the living body Christ founded to guard the truth and lead souls to salvation.

@Wombat11412 @HoldenCCole Prots have killed Caths, other religious minorities & indigenous pops thru-out history. Sectarian violence was prominent during the 16th-17th cen. Reform era. Eg. include the Huguenot-led killings of Caths, like the 1567 massacre of papists in France & violence during the 30 Yrs
