For those tired of sleeping in their McNair polo, we’ll have supima cotton pocket tees available second half of summer. Will do a fast run on those just after June delivery as well as some additional Arnie colorways, two McNair striped polos, and more shorts.

Big announcement. Due to unprecedented demand and forecasted slower production times on belts, the website is now open for a 2026 catalogue preview and made to order belt orders. arnie-mcnair.com It is not perfect. It is a work in progress. So are we. We’re taking belt orders over the next week, locking in final numbers, and sending them to our manufacturer to be included in the spring production run at the end of March. Estimated delivery is May. Please see the sizing guide in the belt images before ordering. Feel free to share any feedback or bugs you find on the site. I’m working on the email now and will have that out as well. Small batch. Made to order. Built the right way. Thank you for the support. God Bless, Arnie

But Arnie, “there’s no way” you can make genuine American alligator belts, cut and stitched in the USA, multiple killer colors, brass or silver buckle, made to order for $225. Those belts are supposed to be $500–$700. “You’ll tank the entire exotic belt market!” Take a lap, catch your breath, and observe. Big Cashmere is next.

@therealmcnair I appreciate your passion to make things in America. It’s noble and rare in this industry. That being said, I love cashmere and if I can get quality sweaters from a reliable and thorough source such as yourself I don’t mind it being from 🇮🇹 .

I decided early on that I was going to build this brand in public. And I’ve hit a crossroads. One of the core principles of this company is making things in America. Cotton shirts that fit and feel how I want? That was a problem we could solve here. Alligator belts at an approachable price and real quality? Solved here. Natural fiber twill shorts that actually fit right and are priced right? Solved here. Old school construction footwear for the course? We think we can solve that here too. Sweaters are a different animal. We can absolutely make cotton cable knits in the USA. And we will. But I love cashmere. We’ve found a small family mill in Italy that truly knows what they’re doing. We could import yarn and knit here, but by the time you’re done, costs skyrocket, quality likely goes down. and it defeats the mission of solving the problem, making the highest quality product accessible. If they knit and construct it there, I could offer what is essentially a $650 sweater for under $200. So the question becomes: is a small, specialty Made in Italy line antithetical to what we stand for? Or is delivering exceptional value in price and quality also part of the mission? We aren’t talking mass offshore production. We’re talking family mills, real craft. This isn’t cutting corners. It’s a philosophical tension. I don’t you can buy quality cashmere that’s constructed in the USA. These are the kinds of decisions that get complicated when you actually stand for something. You have to ask yourself what matters most. Part of building in public is crowdsourcing feedback and staying accountable. Letting customers help shape the direction. I don’t have the answer today. I’d genuinely like your thoughts.

Anddddd looks like they don’t sell it anymore on the website in the 4 button and they’ve gone to a two button 🤣. Welp, that was the best performance shirt there was.

I went through my entire closet recently and here’s the honest assessment, it’s long but would love your thoughts. First: I support a lot of brands and wear them regularly. My closet will never be 100% Arnie McNair and that’s not the goal. I’m not trying to replace everything. I’m building around the gaps I personally feel. Polos: my closet is dominated by Sid Mashburn and B. Draddy. I genuinely like both. My polo is different and fills needs I have and couldn’t solve, but that doesn’t mean theirs aren’t good or have a use. In performance, Peter Millar Summer Comfort (4-button pique) is best in class IMHO. There can be a place for a heat or rain shirt in polyester. My issue isn’t performance existing. It’s that most of the market is cheap plastic with bad design at luxury prices. And it’s alot of marketing nonsense and horrendous fits. And you don’t need polyester on your skin 365 days a year. And polyester stans usually shoot 87. Okay I’m done. But I own a few. Outerwear: largely polyester still. The B. Draddy vest is excellent. KJUS rain gear is elite. I haven’t messed with ZR much though I own a jacket I like. I have zero desire to chase those categories because I’m satisfied buying those products. When someone nails it, I’m happy to support them. I heard B. Draddy is doing that vest in wool and I’ll probably buy one or every color. Pants & shorts: a lot of opportunity. I own a lot of Duck Head. Solid product. But I want different weight, better drape, golf-specific tailoring that works on and off the course. That’s why we’re building ours. Wide whale corduroys as well in the fall. Sweaters: there is a lot of room. Cheap cashmere pills. Expensive cashmere often isn’t worth it. Even high-end wool disappoints. We’re doing cotton cableknits and exploring serious wool/cashmere done right at good value. I’de wear all of these every day. Belts: the Smathers needlepoints are great. But approachable exotic leather that isn’t too wide, has a simple buckle, is made to measure, and isn’t $500+? That gap is real. So we’re filling it. Can’t wait. T-shirts: my favorite tees are ring-spun garment dyed and made in….Honduras. I’d love to do domestic versions. Everyone lives or sleeps in tees and I could see us doing more lifestyle stuff like tees down the road. Button downs: I pretty much dislike most of mine. They don’t make Oxfords like they used to. A lot of the patterns stuck. Prices stink. That might change. Exploring this in the lifestyle category of Arnie. I could see us doing them. Jeans: I have several high end but my favorite pair is light wash Old Navy. Comfort and feel matter more than price tags. Socks: most of mine are disappointing. Still researching. May dabble. Footwear: I’m generally happy. Belgians, suede loafers in penny and tassle (like Mashburn and Beckett Simenon for value), New Balance 990’s or 993’s, FootJoy premiere. Maybe I splurge for Alden cordovan shell one day. The point: I’m not building this out of hate for every brand, though I hate alot of them. I literally wear brands I like and will continue to. No one wears one brand. I’m building this around my own needs and what I hear from customers. More natural fibers. More domestic production. Better proportions. More versatility. Better value and prices. Not trying to have a million SKU’s in every category at this point. Just filling the gaps in my own closet.

HUGE news on the American alligator belts after a long call with my new manufacturing partner. End of March run. May delivery. 6-8 week production time. Color options: navy, brown, black, dark cognac, olive, burgundy. Brass or silver buckle, your choice. Made to measure in 1 inch increments. 1.25 inch width. The right size. They’ll be $225. It costs me more to do it this way, but you’ll get exactly what you want. These same belts retail elsewhere for $500+ and cost nearly $200 to produce. I’ve always been frustrated by the price of authentic American alligator. So we’re doing it differently for our people. Get on the email list if you want access when we open it up. It will be a short window. Your partner in elite value, Arnie

Some renderings of potential belts. Similar width to an S&B a click wider. I personally think belts, especially exotics, have gotten too wide over the years. American alligator in cocoa, navy, and dark cognac. These are the exact same belts the highest end big brands are selling for $300-500. I know because the cost to produce is astronomical, especially in the USA. I found the manufactures and would partner with one. Would you buy one for $200, which is the same price as an S&B? I think I would, but belts are tricky.
