Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

@VolsAboveAll Strictly looking at transfers though, we are far better off offensively. You know he’ll get the most out of them defensively. Plus I believe 2 of the transfers made their all conference defensive team so that’s also better than the outgoing transfers.

@volpb77 That's too overly simplistic way to look at it, but you also lost Ament, Gillespie and okpara. Adding their PPG gets you to 78.1 PPG lost. However, the defense will be worse which is my bigger concern.

This illustrates my concern about the Vols IF they don't land Juke Harris. Well have lost so much production, that, despite a great transfer portal, we haven't necessarily improved from the 3 most recent seasons. Get Juke, and that changes.

At this point I feel like Tennessee has put together a top 12-16 kind of roster for next season. A second weekend NCAAT team. Land Juke (or Ament returns) + some post depth & it jumps to a top 8 team & a legitimate FF contender. The next month will be interesting to see if they can get home with Juke or if Ament spurns the NBA to return for one more season.
