Canadian National Railway (CN) confirmed that 49 cars loaded with potash derailed near the community of Lestock, located around 140 kilometres north of Regina.
Video from the scene shows dozens of rail cars lying off the line, mangled and packed together.
According to CN, there were no leaks, fires or injuries reported as a result of the derailment.
