@CoachMullinsPhD @Brandon_L_Davis @coachseay_cscs @CoachRGarner I agree with that. I think you can build strength and start to get the idea of intent at the same time though. It doesn’t have to be an either or.
English

@Brandon_L_Davis @coachseay_cscs @CoachRGarner @Voodoo4Power The lower the training age, the more the focus is building strength!
English

@CoachMullinsPhD @coachseay_cscs @Brandon_L_Davis I think to me it resembles a 5/3/1 it just rotates a little more. You could look at it a lot of different ways.
English

@coachseay_cscs @Brandon_L_Davis This may be a bit reductionist, but how is that different than using a Westside model using rep maxes for ME?
English

@Brandon_L_Davis @coachseay_cscs @CoachMullinsPhD I think you get j to a db hammer idea too. If kids are weak too light of a dynamic won’t move the dial but you can up the reps, which I believe Louie did or work at slower speeds. Kids can recover so if it gets a little heavy twice in a week they will make it out of it ok.
English

@coachseay_cscs @CoachMullinsPhD I know we spoke in the DMs,
But didn’t Louie himself stop using DE with many younger athletes and went to two ME days or ME + repetition day?
I guess my real question is: in a field that’s already oversaturated with terms, do we really need another one for things we already do?
English

@Brandon_L_Davis @coachseay_cscs @CoachMullinsPhD @CoachRGarner We run a .6 on squats unless we are peaking and a .7 on bench. That’s average speed not peak
English

@coachseay_cscs @CoachMullinsPhD @CoachRGarner @Voodoo4Power Yeah I’ve found the “peak power” 0.90 m/s (or 0.80 for bench) to be too light to provide much for most kids. 0.5 to 0.7 for bench and 0.6 to 0.8 for lower body movements seem to work better for us for DE type work
English

@Voodoo4Power very easy. I was able to knock them out in few weeks. I found a group through the Facebook group and we scheduled meeting times a week apart.

Straight up hijacked this one from @hamsleyjordan If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball. Kids had a good time. Accel, change of direction, elusiveness, dodging, ducking…I could go on. Until next time, doggies.

We usually sprint last out of necessity and I have seen as good of numbers as anyone. I think the lifting prepares the body to sprint instead of vice versa
Ross Garner@CoachRGarner
For a couple years now, I have done sprints and jumps toward the end of the workout vs the beginning which is led to better results across the board. How do you set up the lift is important to see these results, but once you have that dialed in, there’s no going back.

@FaithAthletics My guys love that lift. It maybe their favorite.
English

@Coach_Sikora That is the most accurate statement I have read in this app in a long time.
English

This is fake news coach. Someone’s uncle told them they didn’t need to lift and that guy almost went D1 if the coach would have played him right due to politics.
