As a defenceless, broke and confused Britain, crippled by its net-zero fantasies, is forced to negotiate with the US-Israel battered IRGC pirates to secure some expensive maritime access to middle-eastern oil supplies, the real, dog-eat-dog, competitive world moves on. As President Trump said, and quoted in this excellent piece: “The future will be determined by the ability to protect commerce and territory and resources that are core to national security.” And if any oil-dependent nation such as the UK has so depleted its moral or physical ability to fight for what its needs, it’s many enemies and piratical competitors will hold all the cards at any negotiating or “conflict resolution” table. As this writer says: “In a world of energy-resilient powers, the nations that neglect both their resources and their sea lanes will be the first left in the dark”. This isn’t “Trump’s Suez” as the deranged commentators would have it, but ours. Born of decades of self-destructive defence and energy policy, compounded by a lobby-corrupted, conceited, terminally weak national leadership that cannot separate “self interest” from true “national interest”. The current oil crisis is nothing like 1973. Iran is not Opec telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/04/0…

She was forcibly taken into care, and by the age of 12 had already been labelled a sex worker and called a “yob” by the police chief. During this time, social workers took her to McDonald’s to keep her quiet, despite her repeatedly reporting rapes between 2011 and 2015. In one instance, police even witnessed a rape, yet arrested her instead. Some people still don’t fully understand just how deeply the authorities were involved in this abuse.

We are a deeply polarised society. Should our media not reflect those differences? Or should it pretend that everything is hunky dory and continue to churn out stories and features about a mythical Britain which ticks the box of every tired, outdated liberal shibboleth? The Sun obviously has a certain agenda, a certain editorial stance, and a certain style that won't be to everyone's taste. In particular it's reporting on welfare and immigration won't go down well at liberal dinner parties. But given the fury about the scale of the abuse of the welfare state, and the corrosive impact of mass immigration, these are stories that need to be told. To not do so would be bad journalism. It is not enough for journalists to write about what they want to write about. That only guarantees stories from a very narrow range of perspectives now that most journalists are university educated, and likely to lean progressive. What readers care about matters. And critically, what the data demonstrates matters more. Ironically given the sneering post below, there is no paper in modern Britain which trades more heavily on inflaming tensions, and deepening divisions, than the Guardian. A paper which has been more than happy to pour oil on the fire at every opportunity it can on issues like race, trans, and in particular antisemitism. Just look at the column they published below, which described the opening of a Gail's as an "act of heavy-handed, high street aggression" simply because the company is perceived to nebulously have Israeli (read: Jewish) connections. Even our beloved "public" broadcaster, the BBC, despite its formal obligation to be impartial, has arguably been one of the worst offenders when it comes to media-driven polarisation. Supported by a regulator, Ofcom, which zealously targets GB News, while largely ignoring the indiscretions of the mass of progressive, left-leaning broadcast media. So yes, we are polarised. And our media unsurprisingly reflects that. But it is only the progressive establisment wing of the media where this is combined with the narcissistic sense of superiority that allows writers, reporters and editors to tell themselves over and over again, no matter how many times they're wrong or caught out, that they really are the good guys.

Macron has a point. Next to the chaotic US, Europe is looking like a really attractive place. It’s stable, rules-based, sensible, good quality of life, hosts the world’s leading science programme…

David Lammy announced an initial £50 million humanitarian aid package for Syria. This was topped up by another £95 million. All on the taxpayer. Syria is run by a terrorist. Labour funds terrorism. Labour forces the British public to support awful, corrupt people.
