@chrissnelling I don't see what more they could have done. It's integrated well and all entertainment on the castle is still happening. They could have cancelled it all. I agree the castle is a focal point. Loads of places around the side to get nice picture. I think everyone needs to breathe.

@vosie We all know it’s unrelated, but the dates coinciding is a double/triple blow. Nobody disputes the work needs doing, but a few little tweaks could integrate it better. The castle is THE centrepiece of most people’s visit, so it’s impossible to walk past and pretend it’s fine

Somebody please tone down that blue-y grey stonework so it fits in more naturally 😛 Though it is is a huuuuuuge (expected) improvement, it’s still drawing too much attention to itself

@chrissnelling You can't do this type of work in Winter. It's brick work. It will be done quicker in the summer. In winter they'd have to add a roof to protect it which will make it worse view wise. It's all going to be worth it!

@vosie Nah, not buying it. Of all the pictures I’ve seen, nobody’s managed it and the door is supersize because of the perspective. I don’t really do photos of the castle itself, but I do love the entertainment and it really won’t be possible to consider then

@chrissnelling The drones aren't there due to the castle work. They could have kept the drones if they really wanted too. That's a cost thing! The castle bridge desperately needed work! It's falling apart and looks like an absolute mess. Have you seen it recently? It desperately needed doing!

@vosie I’m still really sad the fountains are off - not to mention the drones. While it made sense to wait until DAW was up and running to do necessary work, this could be the busiest summer and it’s clearly not making a great impression

@chrissnelling If you line up for your photos at the right distance way it all lines up so the door appears to be where it normally is. Saw some pictures today of it. I do think everyone has totally overreacted! 😂 Never seen so many posts.

@vosie The weird fake door actually hinders this. Hope it doesn’t feel so obvious during daytime entertainment. In person there’ll be enough distractions, but it’s gonna make photos look meh

@BothersBar I really would love in this era if nostalgia TV making a comeback we get a UK version again. The fort is there, the games are there and we definitely have the presenters. We can only dream!

@chrissnelling @CafeFantasia I think the musical festival happenings for the gazebo are temporary for this first year or a new show. Depending on timings very possible both can take place. Rapunzel loves being busy. It's clear there were thoughts for a parade one day as they designed a parade route for it.

@vosie @CafeFantasia For sure, but I’d have expected this cavalcade to run in spring next year, so no Rapunzel show then? Even small floats are quite a big investment

@chrissnelling @CafeFantasia They've already said the gazebo shows are changing throughout the season with Rapunzel in the spring, Mary Poppins in the summer and Miguel in the autumn. Nothing for Christmas at the moment. So it all lines up perfectly.

@BothersBar I was hoping to watch today but seems very light with only 3 events and Eliminator.

American Glads seemingly still 'coming soon' in the UK although it is out in other places. Hearing three events and the Eliminator and I think that is probably telling.
