Legal Warning to All States Hosting US Bases (Europe & GCC): All countries that allow their territories, or US military bases located therein, to be used to carry out Trump's illegal orders to commit war crimes against Iran will be complicit in the crime under international law. European leaders whose States are Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court face personal criminal liability. Article 25(3)(c) of the Rome Statute establishes individual responsibility for those who, “[f]or the purpose of facilitating the commission of such a crime, aid, abet or otherwise assist in its commission or its attempted commission, including the provision of the means for its commission.” Official capacity provides no immunity (Article 27). They have been clearly and publicly alerted to Trump’s plan to commit war crimes, leaving them no excuse for failing to take preventive measures. The @IDF response to my question about the attack on the Pasteur Institute: "The IDF struck a military headquarters of the Iranian terror regime in Tehran, which the regime deliberately constructed near the Pasteur Institute." My follow up: From the videos and images available, we can see that the Institute was destroyed, but not any of the surrounding buildings. Did the IDF miss or mistake its intended target? Also, there are no publicly visible military headquarters near the Institute as far as I can tell. If anyone knows of it, please share.🙏 Their response to my follow up: "We have no further comment."

@ggreenwald The slightest knowledge of world history shows that autocratic regimes were the rule for most of human history, and America, and the founding documents it’s based upon, have changed that dynamic and encouraged democratic institutions the world over.

I've long thought and continue to think that the single dumbest group of people are those who believe that the US Govt fights wars to free the oppressed peoples of the world. The slightest knowledge of US history shows it far more often imposes dictatorships than uproots them.

Vandaag heb ik met president Aoun @LBpresidency van Libanon gesproken. We hebben het conflict tussen Israël en Hezbollah besproken en de ernstige gevolgen daarvan voor het Libanese volk. Hezbollah moet zijn activiteiten onmiddellijk staken en ontwapenen, en Israël moet verdere escalatie van het conflict voorkomen. Alle partijen moeten zich houden aan het internationaal recht. Ik heb het belang benadrukt van de-escalatie en directe diplomatieke gesprekken tussen Libanon en Israël, die kunnen bijdragen aan een duurzame oplossing voor dit conflict.
