Two new interactive visualizations break down data from the 2026 General Assembly session. With a nearly two-to-one majority in the House of Delegates, voting unity among Democrats declined slightly compared to recent sessions, while Republican voting unity had a sharp increase. In the state Senate, party unity remained at the same levels. And, see what happened to the nearly 2,400 bills introduced in the General Assembly this year in a series of charts that show the fate of 2026 legislation. vpap.org/visuals

The VPAP team prepared 17 different types of cookies for our Recipe for Transparency reception this morning 🍪 Thanks to everyone who came by as we recognized the Sunshine Caucus, which includes General Assembly members who financially support our work. Legislators, aides, and government affairs professionals voted on their favorite treat. Baklava Cups took home the win, followed by Berry Crumble Bars and Chewy Gingerbread Cookies in a tie for second!
