As a @uniofwarwick academic, I'm disappointed that Finnish embassy @finlandinuk refused my visa for ECCB for presenting a paper @ECCBinfo and ECP (@ESP_Pathology) for an invited talk, citing insufficient justification despite full documents. This is blatant #discrimination.

That's why we titled our blog post "The Journal of Scientific Integrity". Where is this journal? Why is it so taboo to face misconduct by a scientist? People are eager to pounce on women (e.g. Claudine Gay). But I don't expect Srinivasan to be featured in the @nytimes. 21/

It takes 3 copies of the main paper pdf open at the same time to review - one open on the text, one open on the figure captions, and one open on the figures. I had to rename the Suppl. figure pdfs something useful 🤨: "Fig S1...", "Fig S2..." Why is @NatureComms so bad at this?

Nature journal allows reviewer (me) to download each supplementary figure only as a separate pdf. Annoying. Entitles each pdf as something like "123456_0_supp_987654_t22k33_convrt". Supremely annoying. (numbers have been changed to protect the innocent, meaning the authors).

Σήμερα το πρωΐ έκανα ένα μικρό χειρουργείο στο ΓΝΛ. Το νοσηλευτικό προσωπικό άψογο, φιλικό, επαγγελματικό. Αλλά μου ανέφεραν κάτι απίστευτο: Η ημέρα τους είχε 6 (!) προγραμματισμένα χειρουργεία (2-3ωρ καθένα).😕 Ότι πληρώνονται αυτοί οι άνθρωποι, δεν είναι αρκετά ρε παιδιά..
