Part of medical misogyny has always been treating women's pain as natural and necessary and not something that needs to be alleviated. Historically, they were debating whether pain relief during childbirth was even moral on theological grounds, and the tendency kinda lingers on.

Idk how feminism got interpreted to mean that women never have to experience discomfort ever. Vaccines have side effects, getting cavities filled hurts, getting blood drawn is uncomfortable but it’s a small price to pay for the miracle of modern medicine

This is a crazy take. We’re going backwards for women!! The medical establishment STILL has much to improve on and procedures are still painful for many many women with conditions like adeno/endometriosis, vaginismus ect.

the last thing I will say is that the entire medical establishment can't and shouldn't cater to the most sensitive cases. for the vast majority of people, a Pap smear is a quick painless procedure. if that is not the case for you, you need to advocate for yourself.
