I’m honestly not sure what to make of all this. Feels like the end of an era and the start of a new one. Which is always a little exciting but also a little scary. Will we start talking about the hololive era the same way we talk about the pre-hololive era? Hard to say. But whatever she does I’m sure it’ll be great. Cuz she’s goddamn Hoshimachi Suisei. That being said, as an overseas fan I’m concerned that support for non-Japanese fans may become worse. We have never had parity to begin with under hololive, which is understandable to some extent. But apparently the new fan club merch launched with no support for overseas shipping, and there is no overseas ticketing option for the arena tour. If that remains the case it will be a huge disappointment. Attending lives from overseas is already really expensive and difficult, making us jump through hoops to maintain a Japanese phone number and verify ticket accounts via phone call is going to make it even harder. If the goal here was to make it seem like nothing has changed from a fan perspective then it’s already failed, at least for overseas fans. I just hope she doesn’t forget about us. Some of us have been calling ourselves Hoshiyomi for many years.
