EcoCash teased something big. It’s finally here, the 'Super App' But once you open it, it feels very familiar, so, what’s actually new? First impressions:

These kids are being told 'Do it how you do it' In other words, embrace the unearned relaxed confidence to just be yourself, and do it in your own way. No need to strive for perfection or worry about grammar, accuracy, or reaching any other benchmark of excellence. We just gonna party and have fun, ok? Maybe jump up on the desk and twerk a little, yeah? Pop a bottle? Maybe chop out a line or two? Porn awareness class starts in 30 minutes. Prison etiquette class is after lunch.

Having driven down to Maphisa yesterday to celebrate the 46th anniversary of Zimbabwe’s Independence I remain deeply concerned about the state of the road to Maphisa. Although construction work has been done on virtually the whole length of the road it is nowhere near finished. In fact for much of the length of the road all that has been done is the grading of either side of what used to be narrow tar. The narrow bridges remain the same and the old narrow tar is in very bad condition. In fact most the road was extremely dangerous. I recognize that contractors are still on site and had parked their construction vehicles to facilitate the high volume of traffic yesterday, so remain hopeful that they will remain on the road until it has been completed all the way from Bulawayo to Maphisa. My fear is that now that Independence Day is over that the contractors will move elsewhere leaving most of the road in a worse state than it was before the work started. I have already had one report of construction vehicles being moved to Masvingo and hope that isn’t going to be a trend. I call on Government to confirm that construction will continue along the entire length of the road and to give an indication when it expects the road to be finished.

If 5,000 rural schools getting high speed internet for FREE is nothing, then what is the government's something? Because right now, the only thing moving is the talent and investment leaving South Africa for markets that actually want to compete. SA Government says mobile operators are doing more, but those same operators are charging the very people who can't afford bread. Starlink is offering a R500 million bypass to that poverty trap.
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

NEWS: Senior Government Members Lie About Starlink in South Africa Parliamentary chair Khusela Diko claims Starlink’s FREE high-speed internet for 5,000 rural schools “brings nothing to the table” and “won’t move the needle an inch.” The Truth: Starlink is putting up R500 million of its own cash for zero-cost kits, lightning-fast internet, and full maintenance, forever.
This connects 2.4 million rural kids in deep countryside areas where cables and towers can’t reach. Kids get online classes, free learning videos, homework help, and real skills for the future. Teachers access better resources. Entire villages finally join the digital world, boosting education, jobs, and hope where it’s needed most. @elonmusk is stepping up with real help for free while politicians downplay it. Stop the lies — approve Starlink NOW!

I received a threat from a vigilante group called “Presidential Mafia Edutainers 4ED” that demon-possessed men will attack me if I continue to speak out against #CAB3. This is the same group that also threatened @ProfMadhuku and @BitiTendai. Please help us to identify them.

i'm not satoshi, but I was early in laser focus on the positive societal implications of cryptography, online privacy and electronic cash, hence my ~1992 onwards active interest in applied research on ecash, privacy tech on cypherpunks list which led to hashcash and other ideas.

I put my entire local Claude Code setup into ONE Notion doc 4 steps. No fluff. - How to install Ollama and get it running in under 5 minutes - Which model to pull based on your machine specs (30b, 7b, or 2b) - How to redirect Claude Code away from Anthropic's servers to your local instance - How to start Claude Code fully local with zero API costs and zero data sent externally This is the setup I would have KILLED for before burning API budget on automations that never needed to leave my machine. Like + comment "CODE" and I'll send it over (must be connected for priority access)

Why can't SADC countries come together and build an Oil Refinery Plant in Angola and build pipe lines that service all these countries instead of spending millions of dollars buying fuel in the Middle East What stops Africans from doing this?.
