@dl3jop Great radio. Does much better on FM Sats than IC9700. IMHO.

Finally got some replacement parts to fix my second "backup" #icom #ic910. I also replaced the power socket with an XT-90 socket which I use on most of my electronics. The front window plate got polished as well to get rid of the larger scratches. #hamradio #amateurradio #diy

Starting to gear up for NMQP. I got a few sat grid requests, mostly DM73. I might try to do something on Fri before the contest DM75…72. DM71 is in TX, too far. Probably LEO only if I get to it. @N8AJM @XE1BJ_HEBER @KC1MMC Maybe another go on Sat but mainly QP.

I will be doing some pop-up time on the FM sats today and tomorrow from FN33 in Vermont starting with the next pass of SO-50 at 2058Z. ISS was off last pass.

@K4NAV_Sam Nice. We were staying at Port Canaveral in Dec. They scrubbed a Falcon Heavy and Falcon Starlink launch.

Fortunate opportunity yesterday to view the SpaceX/NG Cygnus launch and booster return. iPhone video doesn’t do it justice!

@ac9o_Paul An Extra Class license is much easier to obtain now that you don't need to take a 20 WPM code test. I always encourage aspiring hams to shoot for the moon and keep taking the Extra class exam until they pass it. Nice to be unrestricted in frequencies.

A question for all you CW ops... I noticed that many DXpeditions operate below, for example, 21.025. This is Extra Class territory. Isn't that a bit odd to restrict it? How many CW Ops don't have their extra?

A new addition to my #amsat #satellite gear🛰️📡 I finally got an Icom IC-910. It was broken and had no output power on both bands. I traced the problem to two FETs in the common pre-driver stage and replaced them. Hardest task was finding modern day replacement parts😁

@K8BLbob Yeah, nothing connected to the antenna SO-239 on back of the radio. But novices make that mistake all the time.

Kudos to the Council Rock HS Radio Club. But, there appears to be a big problem with their station on the cover of Sept 2023 QST. 🤔
