Maggie update: She received her sister’s bone marrow well—the cells are there. However, production is very low right now. She is starting a regimen of medications to stimulate the marrow to produce white blood cells and platelets. Maggie will remain admitted for several weeks until her counts reach a safe level. Caitlin is staying with her, while Ben and the older three girls manage things at home in Cleveland (two hours away) and visit as much as possible. caringbridge.org/site/5ce8e95f-…

Looks like Freddy made it to the promised land
Freddy🇩🇪@FreddyLA7

Hello again. We’re currently in Clemson, South Carolina. I’ve decided to come back here to document the final part of our road trip. The main reason I deactivated my account two weeks ago was that things became increasingly toxic. For some people, it’s unfortunately unfathomable that a good story can exist without some kind of hidden agenda behind it. There was even a Reddit group going through my entire account trying to find anything they could use to reveal my identity. I know this was only a small percentage of people, but after a while it became exhausting. During the last two weeks, I received so many kind messages on Instagram, and they really made me realize how many people genuinely enjoyed following the trip. Some people even told me that their grandparents regularly ask them, “What are the Germans up to today?” I think that’s really cool. I decided to continue because I realized that the overwhelming majority of people loved following along. A small group of very loud people shouldn’t be able to ruin something that brought so many others joy. I also want to clear something up, as people who follow me on Instagram already know. I’ve been to the United States before. This is not my first visit, and I’ve never claimed that it was. The last time I was here was in January 2022, when I visited New York and Philadelphia. A lot of people shared my Raising Cane’s post from November 2025 to make it look like I was secretly American. That post wasn’t from the United States, it was from my trip to Saudi Arabia. This is my first time back in the U.S. in more than four years, and apart from Boston, I’d never visited any of the places we’ve been to on this trip before. That’s probably why many people assumed it was our first time in America, because for all of these places, it actually was. And let me tell you, Ohio and Alabama are very different from New York City or Los Angeles. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for reading.

@brothernelson It felt like at some points Witherow could have been writing right now, in the 2020s, especially when talking about why it matters to be convictionally Presbyterian

@brothernelson Dr. Van Dixhoorn has us read the church gov't section and the baptism section for Ecclesiology & Sacraments at RTS Charlotte and it was, without a doubt, my favorite reading from this past spring

Because Maggie isn't on prophylactic medications and her ANC is zero, the doctors want to watch her closely. Still not knowing what is causing her count drops, we are glad to have her close to her team for monitoring. Maggie is her usual self—smiley and quick-witted. She's a trooper and willingly goes to Batson for whatever she needs. We are grateful for this grace the Lord has given to her. Thanks for your continued prayers. caringbridge.org/site/5ce8e95f-…

Caitlin is taking Maggie to Batson in Jackson. She had some concerning symptoms and docs want her admitted. Thanks for your prayers.

Update from Caitlin last night: Maggie’s bone marrow biopsy this morning went well. We hope to hear results sometime next week, and then determine next steps. As usual, her doctors and nurses take such wonderful care of us. We are so thankful for their skill, diligence, and compassion. Caitlin and Maggie were able to get home early this afternoon, and we are so thankful to be together again as a family. Maggie’s numbers dropped again overnight. Her doctors of course are concerned with what they’re seeing, but they still think this could be a transient complication and not necessarily a graft failure. We are praying for this to be the case, and that whatever injury has happened to her marrow, it will recover and work properly again in the next few weeks. We feel a little like we’re reliving last year - she has bruising and petechiae due to low platelets; she is prone to infection and must be kept strictly quarantined; she may feel poorly and have low energy due to low red blood. There are many emotions and many questions, but a hymn keeps running through my mind: All the way my Savior leads me. What have I to ask beside? Can I doubt His tender mercy, Who thru' life has been my Guide? Heav'nly peace, divinest comfort, Here by faith in Him to dwell! For I know, whate’er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well. All the way my Savior leads me, Cheers each winding path I tread; Gives me grace for ev’ry trial, Feeds me with the living Bread. Tho' my weary steps may falter, And my soul athirst may be, Gushing from the Rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see. The Lord has been kind and good to us over the many years of our lives. He has been kind and good to us over the past year of Maggie’s sickness. He was kind and good on Sunday before we knew anything was wrong. And He is kind and good today - the same yesterday, today and forever. Can I doubt His tender mercy? The moon is always round, and God is always good. Please continue to pray for Maggie: - That she would not have any fevers with these low counts, as this would result in hospitalization - That she would be kept safe from infections - That her low counts would be a temporary issue, the graft would remain strong, and the marrow would resume working as it should - For Dr. Davis and his medical staff as they figure out her issues - That we would wait well caringbridge.org/site/5ce8e95f-…

@revpmr @BaldlyObserving @PCAPolity @a4mrofficial The quote from Per Almquist (regarding 21-5) is “the doctrinal standards are adopted as the ordinand’s own utterance of his beliefs as to what scripture teaches.” (Pg 198, Our Bond of Union)

@BaldlyObserving @PCAPolity @a4mrofficial I think, I don’t have my notes in front of me, that Almquist interprets “receive and adopt” as the subscriber stating that the Confession is his confession. That also might have been Ligon Duncan. I’ll get the exact quote to you later.

Article I wrote concerning how we define 'the church' with regards to discussions on church separation. Its the first of at least two articles I'm hoping to write on the current discussion around church separations & schism. All feedback welcome! willdoddcu23.substack.com/p/invisible-an…

@NoWarChristian I’m hoping to flesh out some writing I did for a term paper into a defense of the PCA’s split. Bannerman offers some really helpful language when it comes to defining the church which I think is helpful in these conversations, through I never see people use it

You cannot say what they would do given they had not faced such moral decay. To read back current controversies to the responses of schism they have in the past is anachronistic. They faced a different schism.
Bluegrass Presbyterian@LZaring28

@NoWarChristian They would have hated the current state of the PCUSA, but they certainly would condemn the PCA and all schismatic offshoots.

@LordTemplar1 @NoWarChristian As much as I love Banner of Truth's one volume work, the size is a little unwieldy, so if you can find a good 2-volume option I'd maybe recommend that
