🇲🇦 Abde Ezzalzouli to Liverpool is a signing I can really get behind if the reports are true.
He’s got 24 goal contributions this season (0.78 per 90 minutes).
A very direct and explosive player, who averages 4.5 progressive runs per 90 minutes in La Liga.
He can accelerate very quickly using his low centre of gravity and he’s also got a strong core so defenders will struggle to bring him down.
Out of wingers who have played 1500 minutes and have averaged at least four dribbles per 90, he has the best success rate (64.78%) in La Liga this season.
In one vs one situations he’s very good at changing directions quickly and he protects the ball well, often keeping his foot in front of the ball to draw fouls.
He isn’t just a touchline winger either. If you watch him you can regularly see him make vertical runs behind defences and stretching the opposition.
It’s because of his movement that he can generate a lot of chances for himself and his teammates.
He’s also surprisingly decent in the air inside the box for someone of his size. Has a good leap and has scored 4/5 headed goals for Betis in the last two years.
The biggest upside is that he works hard off the ball as well.
He has won possession 103 times in La Liga this season (top 5 among wingers) and averages 1.1 possessions won in the final third (joint no.1 among wingers).
He’s a player who presses with intensity - works hard to track back and isn’t afraid to get stuck in. He wins 65% of his 4.71 defensive duels per 90 minutes.
Where I think he could improve is his finishing. He’s good at arriving in the box and getting himself in decent positions (especially this season), and he’s got a strong right foot but he could be a lot more productive.
Numbers reflect this as well (just 36.4% of his 2.5 shots per 90 on target this season).
Overall, given his intensity, speed and one vs one ability I do think he would be an ideal profile for Liverpool.

@rebekkarnold He wants a new challenge and had mentioned this at start of last season, hes a really decent bloke who wanted to give em the heads up well in advance
English

@KeithBishop64 @SamueILFC Never said that, my preference is Wharton or gray
English

@wadeys83 @SamueILFC I suppose you want him replaced by a non HG player?
English

@SamueILFC These people can be involved in the club at some level tho and its full of these people in the training ground aswell as the stewards ie match day and stadium tours
English

@SamueILFC Thing is you can't just keep a player on what would be higher wages just cos hes a scouser
English

@SamueILFC Also 45 appearance 2 goals and 3 assists compared to macca who has 51 appearances 5 goals and 7 assists. Both have been poor
English

@SamueILFC So because hes a scouser he needs to stay ? Hes extremely poor in the league and plays better in European matches. There's better options out there
