Doctor Doom Just Walked Into Stark Tower
And Pepper Potts Is Completely Alone
No armor. No backup. No escape.
In this chilling AI fan-made "What If" teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, Doctor Doom pays a visit to Pepper Potts at Stark Industries — and the results are absolutely terrifying.
What does Doom want with Tony Stark's world? Is this a warning... or the beginning of the end?
This masterfully crafted AI concept scene proves that Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom is the most dangerous villain the MCU has ever created, and nobody is safe.
Embarking on a quest to restore the powers of earth, wind, fire, and water to the Four Orbs on my childhood Final Fantasy 1 cartridge tonight on stream! My dad got this game for me when I was a kid and I’ve kept the original box, an 80 page explorers handbook/manual, and inserts ever since! They’ll come in handy on my play through because they have detailed enemy stats and dungeon map layouts!
FF1 was my 1st FF, which my dad got me on a game store employee’s recommendation! So glad he did!
I also framed the classic Nintendo Power FF poster, which normally hangs above my CRT! Additionally, at Midwest Gaming Classic earlier this year I found this 1990 Nintendo Power that summarizes the game beside amazing artwork!
I’ll start tonight at 6pm Pacific (Christina_Rose_ on @Twitch)! It’s been about 15 years since I last played and I can’t wait!
I’m back from a vacation, and what an unbelievably incredible week for gaming announcements from Summer Games Fest, State of Play, and Nintendo Direct! Between Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the Ocarina of Time Remake, and Kingdom Hearts 4, I’m absolutely ecstatic!
There were so many excited reveals that it is hard to keep track of them all! I’m really excited about Tifa in Street Fighter, The Last Ronin, Final Fantasy Resonance, and Resident Evil Code Veronica. I also can’t wait for gen ATLAS because Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favorite games of all time and I can’t wait to see what Ueda has in store for us. It was great seeing more game play.
I’m sometimes asked if I play newer games and I can definitely state I’ll be playing these! I know I’m forgetting several titles I was excited about because there were so many!
It’s hard to believe that within this last week I not only saw announcements of remakes for FFVII and Ocarina of Time AND saw a He-Man movie in theaters (the fight scenes were so fun and the end sequence is absolute gold). What a week!
What are you most excited for?
Happy birthday to Resident Evil, released for PlayStation in Japan as Biohazard on March 22, 1996! The North American release followed soon after on April 1, 1996.
Capcom developed this landmark survival horror game, where players control Raccoon City Police Department S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) Alpha Team members Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine as they battle through a zombie-infested mansion.
Produced by Tokuro Fujiwara and directed by Shinji Mikami, the title was redesigned several times, first as a SNES game in 1993, then pivoting to a 3D first-person shooter for PlayStation in 1994 before finding its footing as a third-person survival horror game. Resident Evil incorporated action, puzzles, exploration, resource management, and inventory management, which became staples in future titles.
I vividly remember the first time I played Resident Evil. My friend and I were on a horror movie kick, despite being way too young, and were renting as many scary movies for sleepovers as we could convince our parents to allow. Naturally, we had to check out Resident Evil when it came out! The game terrified me, causing me to pause and yelp frequently. The tight hallways and jump scares made me feel like I was trapped with Jill, and I hated the giant spiders! I had nobody to blame but myself for the nightmares I had after 😆
Although dated and cheesy by modern standards, the opening sequence with real actors was mind-blowing. We certainly giggled at the dialogue, but still loved it! ❤️
My favorite is probably Resident Evil 4. What’s yours?
Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Also, happy 29th anniversary of the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 release for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis! It initially debuted in arcades on November 6, 1995, before releasing for home consoles on October 11, 1996.
UMK3 added several characters missing from the MK3 roster, including Kitana, Jade, Reptile, and Scorpion, as well as unlockable secret characters Mileena (22264-22264), Ermac (12344-44321), and Classic Sub-Zero (81835-81835). Noob Saibot was also playable on SNES, though hidden in the arcade version. UMK3 also featured new stages, such as Scorpion’s Lair.
It’s difficult for me to pick between UMK3 and MKII as my favorite in the franchise. I started with the original, often playing it at my best friend’s house. I loved the lore and grittiness, and MKII’s release had me spellbound with the introduction of characters like Mileena, Kitana, and Jade.
One of my most vivid memories is when my dad gave me $1 at a movie theater arcade. I picked Kitana and got destroyed. What he said next was extremely impactful: “Pick something where you won’t die right away.”
Rather than deter me, that compelled me to “get good.” I saved my allowance and practiced daily at the bowling alley across from my elementary school. I used Mileena and Sub-Zero and eventually could beat the AI easily.
About a year later, UMK3 cabinets hit the arcades. Rather than the bowling alley, they were at a community center and the military Base Exchange. They were always busy, so I had to push my boundaries to play against older players in the military. They often looked annoyed that a little girl would ask to play, but I studied the moves in this very Arcade Secrets book and was able to defeat them. It was so rewarding when I went back to visit my dad and asked him to take me to the arcade. After seeing me play, he never told me I should “pick something [I] won’t die right away” at again. 😉
My main was Classic Sub-Zero, who had an awesome combo that’s still my favorite of any MK game to date. I demonstrate it below: HP, HP, D + LP, D + HP, jump kick, slide. Depending on the opponent, it needs to be modified since it can be punished, but I still love it.
Going through my UMK3 guide, I realized I had an Electronic Gaming Monthly page I’d pulled from the magazine with combos folded inside! I’m glad I kept that!
I know I’ll never have the time to devote to being competitive at modern MK tournaments, but I still love the series. This game had such a tremendous impact on my childhood. It taught me the importance of perseverance in the face of doubt. ❤️
Now that Dragon Quest 7, Suikoden, Lunar, Grandia, and Final Fantasy Tactics are getting remakes and remasters, what other PSX RPGs deserves the same treatment? I'll start:
Final Fantasy Tactics is here!
Probably won't get to this one until I finish Trails in the Sky because it's goty.
But I'm really looking forward to seeing what the hype is all about with FFT and will be playing on Switch 2.
Who else is checking this one out? 👀
