Poland will always be grateful to Iran for hosting Polish refugees during World War II ❤️
In 1942, over 116,000 Polish citizens arrived on the Iranian shores of the Caspian Sea. This massive exodus included the soldiers of General Władysław Anders' Army, as well as tens of thousands of civilians. Among them were thousands of orphaned children who had just survived starvation, disease, and the brutal conditions of Soviet labor camps in Siberia and Central Asia.
Despite facing their own severe wartime hardships, economic struggles, and food shortages due to the Anglo-Soviet occupation, the Iranian people and government welcomed the refugees with extraordinary generosity.
