RIP Alex 😢 Sending our deepest condolences to Alex’s family, friends, teammates and all who knew him. Statement from FC Hartlepool - ❤️💙 Alex Bell - Club Statement 💙❤️ It is with deep sadness that we share the awful news that Alex Bell one of our U12 Whites players died peacefully at home on 8th Feb 2026 following the reoccurrence of a brain tumour Alex was a much loved member of the U12 Whites and a talented number 9 scoring 36 goals in his first season for the team. Alex was a key member of the squad who helped the Whites to the league title in their first season and was a committed footballer who trained very hard, always had a smile on his face and thoroughly enjoyed representing Fc. As well as his love for playing Alex was also a huge Newcastle fan and got the chance to walk out onto the St James park pitch recently with one of his favourite players Alexander Isak Our heartfelt condolences go out to Alex’s family and all those close to him during this incredibly difficult time. As a mark of respect and to honour Alex’s memory the club will be holding a minutes applause at all our games this weekend We are also supporting Childrens Cancer North who do incredible work helping children and families following a cancer diagnosis. Alex was supported by the charity from day 1 back in 2022 and they continue to support the family now as they deal with the huge hole left by the passing of their amazing son Please join us this weekend in one of the minutes applauses and please donate if you can ❤️ Alex forever in our hearts and thoughts 💙 Alex Bell - Childrens cancer North - please donate at below link justgiving.com/page/andrew-r-…

On Tuesday, our goalkeeper Erin sadly lost her Dad, Kev Chilcott. Despite such heartbreaking circumstances, Erin was absolutely determined to play today in his honour — and that’s exactly what she did. Wearing her Dad’s rugby top, she delivered an outstanding performance between the posts. The strength, courage and resilience this young girl has shown is nothing short of inspirational. Her world has changed in an instant, yet she still wanted to stand alongside her teammates and give everything she had. We could not be prouder of her. The entire AFC Mackworth girls section came together in support, wearing black armbands and holding a minute’s silence before each game to remember Kev. We are incredibly grateful to all the opposition teams who showed such respect and compassion by joining us thank you to Barton Rovers U11’s, Sandiacre U11’s and Hilton Harriers U13’s for your support. This morning was a powerful reminder of what grassroots football is truly about community, unity, respect and standing together when it matters most.

Are the FA aware of climate change ? Another weekend of no football for many kids once again, It's time they stopped burying their heads in the sand and get funding grassroots football better #GamesOffAgain

Just seen that Jack Grealish got a 2nd yellow card for sarcastic applause towards the official. So @FA_PGMOL the question on everybody in the football world's lips now is, Just how on earth does Virgil Van Dijk constantly get away with doing the same thing? 🤔

Premier of Greenland 🇬🇱 statement this morning; This morning, I am both saddened and grateful 🇬🇱 Saddened, because during a press conference last night, the President of the United States once again expressed a desire to take over Greenland. With such statements, our country is reduced to a question of security and power. That is not how we see ourselves, and it is not how Greenland can or should be spoken about. We are a people with a long history, a strong culture, and a vibrant democracy. We are a country with responsibility for our own territory and for our own future. Our territorial integrity and our right to self-determination are firmly anchored in international law and cannot simply be ignored. That is also why I am grateful. Thank you to everyone here at home for the clear support and unity that has been shown. The calmness and dignity with which you have met this situation send a strong signal of a people who stand firm in their values and in their responsibility. I would also like to thank heads of government and partners around the world who have clearly and unequivocally expressed their respect for Greenland, for our democratic institutions, and for the fundamental principles of international law. That support confirms that we here at home do not stand alone. Once again: Greenland is our country. Decisions are made here. And I will at all times fight for our freedom and our right to decide for ourselves and to shape our own future. For now, I hope that the peace of Christmas can settle over us all. Merry Christmas 🇬🇱💙🇬🇱
