We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I don’t trust Mikie Sherrill, Democrat candidate for Governor of NJ. Setting aside the US Naval Academy cheating scandal that she and her husband got caught up in, I’ve never trusted Democrat vets starting with John Kerry. MA, CT, NJ, VA are filled with like minded opportunists. The difference between Democrats and Republicans with regard to veterans is that Dems view vets as victims, suffering from joblessness, homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, mental illness and are suicidal. Only they can save them with costly programs and investments. Republicans view vets as patriots, who having served their country well, are now building their lives, families and careers and contributing to society in meaningful ways. This is the kind of pride Dems don’t acknowledge or cheer for. A vet’s pride requires no slogans, colored flags, garish uniforms, or parades. Their pride derives from those two bitter sweet days each year in May and November when they think of their brothers and sisters in arms, recall their names and faces and such deeds they did together when they were “soldiers once and young,” and utter a silent prayer
