Students beautify our own small place on the planet by weeding the garden. Children, staff and parents are creating a sensory garden for outdoor learning and enjoyment. As we garden, we discover that caring for nature is good for the environment and the soul! Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Voting is underway @WanamassaElem. Library election lessons focus on the importance of being informed about issues & respect for different opinions.

Wanamassa School has joined the @StudentsRebuild #ChangemakerChallenge. Celebrate those who make a positive difference & create an award just right for them using materials you have around the house. Tell me how many you make & share in the next 60 days! x.com/studentsrebuil…

Students today are facing a number of issues. That's why we're inviting students to take the #ChangemakerChallenge and make awards! These awards can be for changemakers in their own backyard, and will also help support changemakers around the world. studentsrebuild.org/challenges/cha…

“When you see something that is not right...you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something. Our children...will ask us,‘What did you do? What did you say?’ ...Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble."Thank you, John Lewis

Well, schools certainly don’t need to be the canary in the coal mine on this issue. A massive amount of time and energy is being dedicated to in-school planning. If we’re not really going to be in-school Sept, then let us focus on a better virtual plan. nj.com/opinion/2020/0…

@mragle1 @WanamassaElem There's a saying, "Don't just count your blessings. Be the blessing other people count on." Thank you, Mel, for being a blessing to so many! ❤️

Our virtual museum goal is to provide opportunities for our kids to view their individual struggles & triumphs within the context of a shared experience. We hope that in honoring our collective resilience we can provide a platform for healing and growth. bit.ly/2ZhfE0e

Once upon a time (in fact, every day!) Miss Wahlgren missed her students, and colleagues too! Thank you for the beautiful message! Much love to all! ❤️

Hi Wanamassa Elementary parents! Please ask your PreK-4th graders to visit my Google Classroom for the code to participate in a special project honoring our entire staff! Thanks to all who've already helped with the surprise. And kudos to you for your hard work as teachers, too!

Rainbows in Windows is a short, sweet and effective book to share with little ones who may feel confused and sad right now. It may help you begin a conversation and often that is the first step toward healing. Books really do have power! Be well! ❤️🌈youtu.be/SvtGI9YxPk4
