They were held incommunicado at Chuka Police station for seven days, as police were seeking 10,000 as a 'bribe' from each of them. Eight of them who managed to raise 10k, were released and the other 5 were presented at the Chuka Law Courts on the 27th of February 2026 with fabricated charges. They were slapped with a bond of Ksh 300,000 each one of them. Morris Mwandiki who was one of them, had to surrender the family title deed while others are still remanded at the Kathwana GK Prison. You are illegally arrested while exercising your constitutional rights, then robbed of 10k, and charged with fabricated charges for failing to fulfil an illegal scheme designed to steal from you. These are deliberate tactics being used by the state to silence dissenting voices. Thugs who looted funds meant for development are still in office under state protection, while young Kenyans advocating for a better country are being intimidated using fabricated charges.
