Undertook an extensive tour of various research and demonstration facilities of ICAR-NEH Region in Umiam, Meghalaya, and interacted closely with scientists and technical experts on scientific innovations and modern farming technologies being developed for the North Eastern region. Discussed and sought technological and scientific solutions to various site specific issues including small machinery for land terracing and jhumland reclamation, citrus decline and pollination issues in kiwi fruits. Training and capacity building collaborations under Catch Them Young Programme of Agriculture & allied departments were also explored for promoting Agri-business and entrepreneurship.

DELIGHTED and proud to have virtually attended the landmark launch of the 'Arunachal Kiwi Mission: The USP of Arunachal Pradesh' this evening. This transformative and historic initiative will put Arunachal Pradesh firmly on the global organic kiwi map. The mission was launched by Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia ji in the gracious presence of our Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu ji and senior officials in New Delhi today.

HAD a highly meaningful interaction at the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region in Umiam, Meghalaya this evening. Deliberated on key technological interventions to address pressing issues across agriculture and its allied sectors, alongside identifying critical areas for future institutional collaboration. Joined by my Secretaries of Agriculture and Horticulture, the meeting was attended by the Director of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Director of ICAR-ATARI Zone VII, along with senior scientists and officials of the institute.

VISITED the Fruits Wholesale Market at Tetelia, Guwahati this morning and had an insightful interaction with members of All Assam Fruits Growers and Sellers Association. Understanding their market dynamics, logistical challenges and distribution networks offered valuable lessons that can greatly help in strengthening and uplifting our own local farmers and agricultural markets.

THE 6th Meeting of the Governing Body of North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management (NERIWALM) was convened today under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Jal Shakti Shri C. R. Patil ji at Guwahati, Assam. Sought formal collaboration with NERIWALM in areas such as soil and land use surveys, watershed and springshed management, land capability studies, and catchment development planning. Also proposed for a Technological Resource Centre or State Soil Museum in Arunachal Pradesh as a future Centre of Excellence for land and water resource knowledge. Further, emphasized on the pay scale restructuring in line with UGC/AICTE norms, strengthening specialised training, research, faculty recruitment and institutional capacity in the water resource sector. The Union Minister also virtually inaugurated the International Hostel-cum-Guest House at the NERIWALM campus in Tezpur.

The Ironman is widely regarded as one of the toughest endurance events in the world. It is a grueling single-day test of stamina and determination. Participants must complete a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km cycling ride, and a full 42.2 km marathon, all back to back. On 10 May, my son Nandil, currently in his fifth year at the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru, took on this extraordinary challenge at Ironman Vietnam. After just 7-8 months of preparation, he completed the challenge in approximately 16 hours. As a father, it fills me with immense pride to see his discipline, determination and perseverance. I wish him the very best for the journey ahead and for many more milestones in life.

ATTENDED today's State Cabinet Meeting chaired by Hon'ble Chief Minister Pema Khandu ji. A productive session focused on key policy decisions and developmental agendas aimed at strengthening governance and administration across all departments of our state.

EXTREMELY pained by the demise of Dr. Bengia Tolum ji, former President of the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) and President of Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF). It was a profound honor for me to serve under his Chairmanship at the AITF a decade ago. He was a true reformer, a guardian of our heritage, and a tireless advocate for the indigenous voice. His monumental contributions to our state and its people will always be remembered with deep respect and gratitude. May his noble and devoted soul rest in eternal peace. 🌸

INDONESIA: Reached Indonesia to explore the renowned Luwak coffee processing facility in Tampak Siring district of Bali, along with our team of delegates. Luwak coffee, known for its traditional hand-crafted process, is among the finest, rarest, and most premium coffees in the world. From bean to brew, we explored its intricate production journey and gained valuable insights into its fascinating ecosystem. Also interacted with a local cooperative society in Temen village, observing how community-driven efforts successfully cater to global demand. It was truly insightful to witness how cooperative societies manage an entire home-based ecosystem with such dedication, precision and skill.

Led an official delegation of senior officers, district administrators and progressive farmers on an intensive overseas exposure visit to Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia to explore global benchmarks in oil palm cultivation. We undertook extensive field studies of plantations and processing units, alongside a visit to the Minama Research Centre. It was remarkable to witness how the integration of AI, machine learning, drones and satellite imagery is revolutionizing plantation management and productivity. Engaging directly with industry experts and researchers allowed us to gain vital perspectives on policy frameworks, smallholder integration and the environmental safeguards necessary for long-term viability. These insights and new business collaborations are essential as we scale up our oil palm development under NMEO-Oil Palm.

MALAYSIA: Currently in Malaysia with a delegation of our progressive farmers and officials from the Agriculture Department to study the latest advancements in oil palm cultivation. Visited SD Guthrie Seeds and Agricultural Services at Carey Island, Selangor and Banting—a pioneer in oil palm seed production and a leading global supplier—along with the Deputy High Commissioner of India in Malaysia. The visit covered their oil palm plantations and seed production units, providing valuable insights into the science and precision behind their world-class seed production systems. This exposure will significantly aid our efforts to adopt advanced techniques and enhance oil palm cultivation and productivity for our farmers back home in Arunachal Pradesh.

EVERY time a veterinarian prevents a zoonotic disease from reaching humans, and every time they ensure the safety of meat, milk and eggs on our tables, they are truly safeguarding public health. Attended the meaningful World Veterinary Day celebration at Namsai along with HDCM Chowna Mein ji and HMLA-cum-Advisor Mohesh Chai ji. Secretary, Director, DVOs and VOs from across the state came together to mark the occasion. From honoring the wisdom of our retired veterinarians to rewarding the excellence of our current 'Best Veterinarians,' the day was a beautiful reminder of the vital role this department plays in our lives. Happy World Veterinary Day to every vet ensuring our livestock is healthy and our food is safe.

JOINED the people of Pumao yesterday for the traditional Kham pulling and installation ceremony. In keeping with tradition, all villages of the Ngua Clan took part in this sacred and rare occasion. The local MLA, secretaries, and other senior officers participated with great enthusiasm alongside hundreds of villagers in this physically demanding yet spiritually uplifting task. Heartfelt congratulations to the people of Pumao for their new Kham.

A total of 20 cattle, including 19 pregnant cows and one breeding bull, were handed over to local Dairy Cooperative Societies by the Dept. of AHV&DD today. During the quarantine period itself, 10 healthy calves were born, taking the total to 30 animals. Concentrate feed support has also been provided to ensure proper care and nutrition of these cattle. This marks the first introduction of the high-yielding and climate-resilient Sahiwal breed in the district, aimed at boosting milk production and farmers' income. Additionally, a pilot initiative of distributing 15 units of Merino cross sheep was undertaken to promote diversified livestock farming in Pongchau area. The event was attended by HMLA Thangwang Wangham ji, along with senior officers from AHV&DD and NDDB, PRI members and district administration.

KHAM is one of the largest and most sacred musical instruments in Wancho heritage, which has been an integral part of every village since time immemorial. Pumao village has now welcomed its new Kham, with the community ceremonially undertaking the physically demanding task of carving and transporting the massive log. This is not just labor, but a powerful expression of preserving our culture against the passage of time. Proud to see our traditions being upheld with such dedication and spirit.

JAWAHAR Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Khapcho, Tissa has been playing a vital role in catering to the educational needs of the district. Visited the campus to review its administrative functioning and overall operational status last evening. Interacted with students and staff, and gained insight into the challenges they face in their daily pursuit of learning and teaching. Assured Government's full support in addressing these gaps and providing all necessary assistance to support the academic community.

HELD a review meeting with the HoDs of various Departments to evaluate the status of ongoing projects and address pressing local issues. Stressed on ensuring that every project is executed with quality and completed within the stipulated timeframe.

JOINED the BJP Kanubari Mandal Unit today to observe the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar ji with deep reverence. It was a solemn occasion to recall his monumental contributions to our democracy.
