Poeple often forgive Corlys because the Velaryons are framed as cooler, dragon-riding underdogs, whereas Otto is framed as the calculating, bureaucratic antagonist. Ultimately, both men are textbook examples of Westerosi patriarchy, treating their daughters as political instruments to elevate their family legacies. Why is Corlys more deserving of forgiveness than Otto???
