@FTZombie @SteamDB We wonder, did Wine team also have radio silence from Valve before they announced and released Proton?

@waydroid @SteamDB My only thoughts would be like proton it's based more towards gaming and that difference makes them think it should of been forked? That's my only guess.

Lepton is the official name for Valve's version of Android on Linux compatibility layer, based on Waydroid. This is similar to Proton, which is Windows on Linux, based on Wine.

In a better universe, a line of communication would have been opened first, giving all parties involved a chance to make the right choices here and work together. Thinking of how this affects the developers working on @waydroid and how demotivating this can be for them.

It seems that Valve is now calling their fork of Waydroid as “Lepton” Just like they call their fork of Wine as “Proton” Proton: Windows to Linux Lepton: Android to Linux
