Dear my delightful tweeps, some news! So after 30 years of City Hall and urban-issues stories that you all know, I'm doing something completely different — I’ve decided to run for a City Council nomination with @OneCityVan and hopefully run on their slate this October.

Now, we have to demonstrate why it is so critically important to get it right. Public land is finite. Let’s protect it. Demand transparency by sharing this thread, let's make sure we get things done and get it done right.

We all use community centres to connect to provide opportunities for our youth, connect with our community, and to stay healthy, but those with less means rely on these spaces every day.

It’s good to see real movement on the stalled "Bring Back Britannia" project, with rumours of a Canucks practice facility on site. Pro-growth means getting things built, and I want to see shovels in the ground.

This is the choice: manage decline, or build a city that works again. Let's build with a plan, and with room for everyone. Let’s get back to building.

Somewhere along the way, we kept the values… but we stopped delivering.  Red tape and consultation consensus became our calling card. And we paid for it. Skyrocketing home prices. Empty storefronts.

What does "Pro-Growth, Pro-Housing, Pro-Worker Practical Progressivism" actually mean? When William says “pro-growth, pro-housing, pro-worker,” he’s not trying to win a slogan contest. He’s describing the kind of Vancouver we need to build again.

It was a bit weird to see false stories circulating about me just a few days after winning the @OneCityVan nomination. Glad to see @IJFMedia and @zakvescera pick this up. The story gets even weirder the deeper you go.
