Partner Wayne Dennison joins @CourtTV to discuss the evidence presented in court filings for the retrial of #KarenRead, who is facing several charges, including second-degree murder, in the death of her boyfriend, #JohnOKeefe. During last year's trial, which ended in a hung jury, the defense pointed to surveillance video provided by the prosecution, suggesting that someone intentionally inverted, manipulated, or altered the footage. The video in question is from a surveillance camera in O’Keefe’s driveway which shows Read’s black Lexus SUV backing out of her Boston police officer boyfriend’s driveway in 2022. Dennison believes this will be a big issue. “80% of retrials are convictions because the prosecution gets to practice their act and come back and do it again,” Dennison said. “This is one of those areas that is just literally inexplicable. Why is it this video inverted and still the timestamp is appropriate and placed in the right place? The whole issue around this video has not been explained in a meaningful way.”

In an appearance on @CourtTV’s Vinnie Politan Investigates, partner Wayne Dennison discusses the case of #PenelopeMcGee, who is accused of causing the 2020 death of her ex-husband, #AndrewSavitz. Court documents state that McGee confronted Savitz at his home on after receiving an eviction notice from his brother. She claimed Savitz pushed her before collapsing, prompting her to perform CPR. However, their daughter, Zuzzie Savitz, told officers she saw McGee slap and push Savitz before he collapsed while she was calling 911. “It’s going to come down to really a battle of these two witnesses,” Dennison said. “Which of the witnesses does the jury deem most credible. Is it the defendant here or is it Zuzzie the most credible of the two witnesses. It’s going to come down to who they think is telling the truth.”

Following a three-week jury trial in the Norfolk Superior Court, Brown Rudnick secured a complete victory for Clay Ventures, a third-generation family of automobile dealers, in a multimillion-dollar valuation fight over real estate assets sold to an acquiring auto group. Nancy Mace were defamatory. The interview made headlines after Mace, a rape survivor, accused Stephanopoulos of trying to “shame” her by probing why she endorsed Trump despite two juries awarding writer E.
