Canada is keeping families together while making our immigration system more sustainable. Starting today, we’re changing how we calculate a family’s income to decide if they qualify for a super visa: bit.ly/3QaCanS The super visa lets parents and grandparents visit their family in Canada for longer stays. Families will now be able to choose 1 of 2 new ways to meet the financial requirement: • use income from either of the last 2 tax years • add the visiting parent’s or grandparent’s income if the host’s income is slightly below the requirement

Think carefully before marrying someone and sponsoring them to come to Canada, especially if: 🚩 you’ve just met 🚩 they want to get married quickly 🚩 they’ve been married or in a common-law relationship many times before 🚩 they haven’t shared much information about their background or family Avoid scams and learn the rules for sponsoring a spouse: bit.ly/3XQMtOm #FPM2026

New eligibility rules are now in effect and will apply to all asylum claims made on or after June 3, 2025. These rules help keep the asylum system strong, fair and focused on providing protection to those who need it. Rule #1: Asylum claims made more than 1 year after someone’s first entry into Canada after June 24, 2020, won’t be referred to the @IRB_Canada, even if the person has since left and returned.
