This storm is trying to get gusty! While it is not showing rotation at the moment, it does have winds running about 45mph...and could strengthen. Headed toward Ellwood City and Zelienople...

Quick update. We’ve got 8” on the ground already. The heaviest of the snow is still on its way. Wouldn’t be shocked if we see the upper range of the totals I mentioned. 16-24” is now very much in the cards.

Heaviest banding now setting up between I-80 & HWY 422 and in northern WV. Back edge of the precip is still 1100 miles away in OK/TX. Long way to go with this one. An addition 12-18” possible ON TOP OF what has fallen from the Pittsburgh metro and points north! #pawx

Similar to earlier this week we are still looking at two main scenarios for the upcoming winter storm. Steadier snowfall is expected to begin Saturday afternoon and evening and continue into Monday. The scenarios will be broken down further in comments on this post.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning including Pittsburgh PA, Bethel Park PA and Monroeville PA until 5:30 PM EDT. This destructive storm will contain wind gusts to 80 MPH!

Tuesday's severe weather risk is at a level we usually only see a few times of year in our area. There can be a robust storm or two around midday, but the higher risk is probably in a window from around 4pm-9pm. Large hail and strong winds ae the primary threats.
