Anyone good with identifying Baby birds. I unfortunately came across a deceased one in my backyard this morning and I’m not sure what it is.

@birdwarehouse_ i need to get all the COOL shit this summer and go up camping for grouse and ptarms too!!! i need to get hooked up with the spots

those are just the basic guys too don’t even get me started on the cool shit! scott’s orioles, hepatic tanagers, lucy’s warblers, black-throated sparrows, gray vireos, least terns, painted buntings !!!! oh my!!!

finally getting out for some birding and man i cannot wait for all our breeders to return in a few months!!!!

@aadityad9 @sykesjeff i think it may be a young cooper's (the teardrop shaped marks are good for that) but again i don't know lol. i'm rusty on hawks aside from my locals.

@aadityad9 @sykesjeff osprey and red-shouldered seem correct but i believe the third bird is a Sparrowhawk (Europe's version of coop/sharpie) and i don't think that's a red-tail (no belly band) but i have no other guess.

@weatherb1rd Oh yes. Dozens and dozens. I haven’t been painting as many lately because it’s a sad time of year for me. But here’s a bunch from before my sister died and I hated winter slightly less.

Winter is stupid but it’s kind of pretty out right now.

@kuroufo different species have different faces, see the broad-winged (more spooked), rough-legged (cute angry) and ferruginous (scary angry)

@candiburke you should have gotten an email requesting you to review your own species on your account. otherwise, the changes this year included Yellow warbler split (mangrove, northern) which may have been significant and Striated heron also. quite a few non-north american 3-ways too.

Looks like I gained 4 armchair lifers with today’s eBird update. Can only figure out one so far - Western Warbling Vireo. Anyone else?
