It’s easy to hype tech but Lombard is bringing Wall Street talent into DeFi. Ex-JPMorgan, ex-Visa minds aren’t here to play they’re here to rebuild finance
Web3queen@web3_lioness

Ever wondered what happens when Wall Street brains meet DeFi ambition? That’s what’s brewing at @Lombard_Finance The team behind it isn’t your usual anon crypto crew. We're talking real-world finance veterans folks who’ve held leadership roles at giants like JPMorgan Chase and Visa. These are professionals who’ve seen how global finance works behind closed doors and now, they’re using that experience to rewire it, with Bitcoin at the center. Lombard isn’t just building another protocol. It’s bringing TradFi precision into DeFi’s playground to make Bitcoin not just a store of value, but a financial engine. The result? A system where your BTC can actually work for you, without leaving your wallet behind. That’s what gets me excited. Not just the tech but the caliber of people building it. Let’s see what real finance looks like when it goes on-chain.

Business Idea for those in Kano and Beyond. Yesterday I was in Kwari Market, Unity Road, Kano - where my Abaya shop @egyptplugs was located at Gidan AMAS Plaza. I saw how the place was littered with pure water sachets all over the place, but I was later told that there are cleaners but they only clean the plaza in the morning before market opens. My first thought here was that; why would a multimillion building be so neglected despite the huge amount of Naira being transacted everyday there, just right there a business idea came to my mind: OPENING A FORMAL CLEANING SERVICE COMPANY. Here is what I composed, you may perfect it and try to see if you can run it. The plaza has 3 floors for active trading and high traffick, the ground floor, first floor and second floor. Each floor has no less than 50 shops on 2 parallel streets. If you have a cleaning company, you can strike a deal with each shop to pay just 2,000 per month. On each floor station 2 cleaners from morning to evening with their broom and parker, charged with making sure no single dirt last more than 5 minutes on ground and ensure clean environment is maintained. Each cleaner handling one street. Each floor would generate ~N100,000 per month, if we assume there are 50 shops on each floor. Pay each cleaner 30,000 per month, the cleaners get 60,000 out of the 100,000. And you get 40,000 per floor. The 3 floors would earn you 120,000 at that plaza alone. Where it gets more interesting is that; there more than 100 of such plazas in Kwari market alone. Imagine you are able to manage to get contracts with 40 plazas. You will be generating 120,000 x 40 = N4,800,000 Now, employ 10 supervisors, each one supervising 4 plazas and pay them 40,000 per month. That leaves you with N4,400,000. Cost of running the infrastructure may cost like 15% which is N660,000. Leaving you with N3,740,000 Pay taxes and other costs, may be would cost like N500,000 Leaving you with N3,240,000 Now, remember you won’t get 100% payments from all the shops at the end of the month, so taking that into consideration may cost you a loss of N1,000,000 in paying salaries and other expenses. Still leaving you with N2,240,000 Set N740,000 for any unforeseen issues that might arise. That would leave you with a net income of 1,500,000 per month. Impacts: 1. Employing 6 people per plaza in 40 different plazas 6x40 = 240 people as cleaners plus 10 supervisors, thats 250 active employees, plus office workers. 2. Keeping environment clean, tidy and healthy for business. 3. Wise among the cleaners would explore the market and grab opportunities in the market, subsequently leaving the cleaning job and become businessmen/women. Note: This is just a hypothetical scenario, with little further research, it can be more interesting and more profitable if properly executed and managed.

I almost stepped away from being online completely. I happened to run out of content ideas and lowkey wanted to turn away from online presence at large. started to think I had zero achievements. Then I thought about something. I am not out of ideas, I am standing on a pile of years of unshared experience. For the past 6

Crowded industries scare people until they realize most of the crowd disappears after a few weeks. Consistency wins in places that look saturated because patience is rarer than talent, and I’m seeing that in real time.

30 minutes of undivided attention, five days a week, will drastically accelerate your learning curve. Break it into two 15-minute blocks. Watch for 15 minutes, take a short break and move around, the come back for another 15. Most high-quality online courses average about 6 hours. Would K-dramas allow you?
