happy 4.20 to those who celebrate. as someone who has lived with crohn's disease for over 16 years, and chronic pain from getting hit by a car at 19, mmj has been an absolute lifeline. the quality of life improvements it provided, no pill(s), no IV infusion therapy, no elimination diet ever could. we're talking about a plant outperforming a pharmaceutical cocktail that can run $10,000 to $20,000 annually per patient. and yet cannabis sits on Schedule I alongside heroin, classified as having "no accepted medical use." 38 states disagree. 70% of IBD patients who've tried it disagree. i disagree. and yet the stigma persists. the scheduling persists. the gatekeeping persists. i'm not here to tell you what to put in your body. but i am here to say: the stigma around medical cannabis is costing people their quality of life. not all cannabis users are stoners or degens. some of us are just trying to feel human again. access to what works shouldn't be a privilege. the stigma is the real disease. and the cure starts with rescheduling marijuana on a national level and streamlining our medical approach. while i believe elected representatives should have clear and restrictive rules around what they can and can't trade, when, and how... considering they are all privy to "alpha" i.e. the truth before everyone else, due to their involvement in policy and law making. we're talking closed door committee hearings, pending legislation, regulatory decisions, and economic data previews before the public ever sees them. especially those sitting on committees with direct oversight of the sectors they're actively trading in. bring it on. the goal isn't to keep politicians out of crypto. it's to make sure they play by the same rules they write for everyone else.

just had one of my favorite conversations since breakpoint with my friend and fellow solana ecosystem advocate @simonmolitor about what "crypto marketing" in 2026 will look like, especially compared to how companies have classically operated in the past. on one hand i want to gate keep my learnings and insights for solflare and my closest confidants, and on the other hand i want everyone to succeed, so what i'll share right now is kind of obvious but clearly being missed by countless projects: human power your marketing. people engage best with people, humans are meant to communicate, coalesce around ideas and purpose, and ultimately TALK TO EACH OTHER. people will engage better with other people than they do with marketing materials. think about how this could apply to your GTM strategy for your product release, or the next campaign you're running for that feature update, i don't think you will regret it. get creative too - human powering your marketing and brand building can take countless shapes. onwards and upwards. -M
