@WHUFC_News Here we go! The diversion. Blame on Nuno. Not Sullivan who has overseen this shambles for 14 years.

Some very damning pieces from the Athletic article on our relegation - Nuno was the highest paid manager in our history - Nuno didn’t trust the coaches he had to work with but still delegated most of his responsibilities to them - Nuno fell out with Todibo, Wilson, Ward Prowse, his coaches and more - Nuno was advised not to sign Pablo but still went ahead - Players preferred Potter’s pre-match preparation - Nuno didn’t talk to players during HT and after matches 🫪🫪🫪🫪

@TheAthleticFC I’m sorry but I don’t see where this going. Hired to do a job. Not allowed his people in and decisions questioned straight away. Good luck to the next manager with these clowns in charge.

When Nuno Espirito Santo greeted the players after overseeing his first training session, he informed James Ward-Prowse privately that he would not feature in his plans. The board were concerned with how Nuno alienated Ward-Prowse, but felt they had to back him because he was their appointment. Off the field, tension grew stronger between Nuno and his coaches Mark Robson, Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville and Billy Lepine. According to multiple sources, the coach openly admitted he did not trust them. Nuno often chose not to speak to the players during half-time and after games. At the interval against Wolves, Robson attempted to give the players a rollicking because of the poor performance. Nuno told his assistant coach to sit down and there was a heated exchange. 📝 @RoshaneSport FREE READ 🔗 nyti.ms/4tZKrJH

“World-class team in a world-class stadium?” Second-tier team in a track-and-field stadium. West Ham United relegated to the Championship at the London Stadium. Fans have every right to be angry. They turned up. But where was the real leadership in the club? Or on the pitch in recent times (Bowen apart)? No urgency in the first half against Leeds. Taty and Bowen gave brief hope. But they couldn’t rise to the equation. Spurs survive. Many reasons for West Ham’s demise: some iffy recruitment, some below-par coach appointments (Lopetegui, Potter), defensive issues, lack of direction from board, tensions between fans and Sullivan, as well as an unsuitable stadium (fans far from pitch, rental so difficult to generate money). Record losses. And revenue will be hammered by the drop. Who gets sold? Fernandes and Summerville will be top of many clubs’ shopping list. And the loyal Bowen? Does Nuno stay? Will the fanbase want him to? Does Kretinsky make a move to take over? Would Sullivan sell anyway? So many questions. Who can provide the answers? Who will stand up to be counted? West Ham need a reset, a rethink, improved recruitment and better leadership - on and off the pitch. Their fans deserve better. #WHULEE #WHU

@RoshaneSport Which begs the question, how the hell did they improve like they did? This says more about the players than the manager.

⚒️ Todibo told Nuno he would never play for him again ⚒️ The club must raise £150m in player sales ⚒️ Nuno's clashes with backroom staff ⚒️ Most of the players preferred Potter's pre-game preparation Inside West Ham’s miserable relegation. #WHUFC nytimes.com/athletic/70833…

@KieranMaguire So why wouldn’t the LDC sell the stadium or have they tried and failed?

West Ham pay rent of £90,000 a week at the London Stadium. This will halve if the Club are relegated. The stadium, even taking into account the landlord, which is the London taxpayer, earns money from other events, conferencing and catering etc, loses over £1m a week. This is a classic example of big event legacy costs (similar for World Cups in South Africa, Brazil, Qatar etc) where the short term gain is replaced by long term pain. This century only the World Cup in Germany in 2006 has had a positive impact on the economy in terms of Olympics and World Cups, because the stadia and infrastructure were already in place.

Karren Brady’s promise of “a world-class team in a world-class stadium” rings even more hollow now. West Ham United should never have moved to a soulless public athletics track. Great move for the board but not for the fans. Leaving Upton Park made sense for commercial reasons but not sporting/atmosphere. Daniel Levy was right. The Olympic Stadium should have been knocked down and a proper football stadium built there. It is a good site. But the Olympic lobby and politicians got all protective and precious about the 2012 legacy. How often does this country need a huge athletics arena anyway? Yes, West Ham won a European trophy since they’ve left Upton Park. But London Stadium was always a problem, always a passion-killer, fans distant from the ones they love, the players, and limited potential for increased revenue streams. Other reasons behind club’s demise. Lack of leadership in the boardroom. Recruitment an issue, too. What a mess. Record losses, fears over future of Fernandes, Summerville and Nuno, intensified protests against chairman Sullivan.   Relegation likely. Two points adrift of safety following 3-1 defeat to Newcastle. Wretched goal difference (-22) compared to Spurs’ (-9). Spurs need only a point from Chelsea away (hard) or David Moyes’ Everton at home to guarantee survival and condemn West Ham. Can Moyes do West Ham a favour? The club who let him go. West Ham need to beat ex-Spur Joe Rodon and Leeds at home anyway. West Ham look doomed to the drop. They will return but need better ownership. And many of their fans have been warning of this perfect storm for some time. #WHUFC

@Hammer_On_X Those stats don’t tell the whole story. JLo inherited a good team and made it worse. Then Potter dismantled the squad and made it unbalanced. This team was in its arse when Nuno arrived. To say the has turned it is an under statement.

@RoshaneSport Is that tactical improvement or physiological improvement Roshane? They are heading it now, reading the game, blocking shots…… or just the no Kilman factor 😂

West Ham are out the relegation zone for the first time since November. This draw will feel like a victory for Nuno's side. The crowd cheered every block in added time. Solid defensive performance. The defence was a weak area when Nuno took over. No longer the case now. #WHUFC

@henrywinter Nuno switched the keepers at West Ham. Areola to Hermanson (who had a shocker when he joined) and it’s been a master stoke. What ‘s the difference?

Management requires man-management, whether that’s stick or carrot (and mainly carrot nowadays). Igor Tudor doesn’t appear to possess any obvious man-management skills. He’s the caretaker who doesn’t take care. That’s another reason why Tottenham Hotspur’s hesitant board should have removed him within hours of the final whistle of the humiliation at Atletico Madrid. Tudor might have felt he had a case to start Antonin Kinsky because of Guglielmo Vicario’s flaws. Tudor might have felt he had a (stronger) case to remove Kinsky after 17 hapless minutes. What was unforgivable was Tudor failing to show any empathy for a crestfallen 22-year-old as he made the walk of blame. It’s not about being soft in a hard world. It’s about basic people skills and also not alienating the rest of the dressing-room, who will have felt for Kinsky. Lack of leadership runs through Spurs from senior players not taking responsibility and/or getting suspended to the board's poor decision-making to a dug-out devoid of credibility. It says everything about the absence of accountability and authority at Spurs that Tudor has not gone yet. #THFC

@KieranMaguire We also do not have a good track record of selling players. If that is a basis to improve liquidity, then I am not confident!

@RoshaneSport Could this be the nail in the coffin of a certain Director. I mean that Director is a business Guru who negotiated the deal of the century to move West Ham to a “world class” stadium that house a “world class” team.
