Motherwell were playing with a team of 4 full backs, 4 midfielders and 2 wingers for most of the second half and still played brilliant football. Askou brought his two best players off at 2-2 and they played even better and were deserved winners. A superb manager. Get him in.

Forrest can stay as long as he likes as long as he only plays ~500 league minutes per season in my books He’s still better than any winger who would agree to be our 5th/6th choice winger

McGregor, Tierney Doohan, Forrest and either Welsh or Murray from our academy and McCowan, a midfielder (Watt, Mulligan or Watson) and potentially Andy Robertson will be great for Europe (A back up keeper or someone like Scott McKenna would be more realistic than Robertson)

The fact that James Forrest (and the likes of Anthony Ralston, Dane Murray and Stephen Welsh) are still here and signing contracts is because we can not produce (along with Scotland in general) any decent academy prospects for the European quotas

Andoni Iraola looking at his job offers this summer

Andoni Iraola is set to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season, currently earning around £1.5M a year. For context, Brendan Rodgers returned to Celtic in June 2023 on a deal worth roughly £3M per year making him the highest-paid manager in the club’s history. That puts Iraola well within our financial reach. For me, we would be absolutely crazy not to at least ask the question and put a serious offer on the table for a manager of his quality. Just to be clear this isn’t a rumour, just common sense.

If Andy Robertson is at all getable, you obviously sign him no question, but if he’s not, we have to keep Saracchi permanently. Would be the stupidest thing we could do this summer if we don’t end up with one of the two
