The internet is no longer primarily a network of people. It’s a battleground of autonomous agents, artificial intelligences, click farms, scraper bots, ad-tech parasites, and memetic viruses. And most users still believe they’re navigating a human space. Here’s what’s really happening beneath the surface: •The internet is undergoing AI colonization. What used to be human discourse is now increasingly simulation. Content is written by bots, read by bots, scraped by bots, and amplified by bots - for the benefit of engagement metrics and capital flows. Most of the internet is no longer for humans. •Dead internet theory isn’t a theory anymore - it’s the default condition. If over 50% of traffic is artificial, then by reflexive definition, the “average” internet experience is now synthetic. The authentic signal has been drowned. In a world flooded with synthetic noise, authentic insight, coherence, and emotional resonance become premium assets. Real voices become signal sanctuaries. That’s why it feels like “wading through a sea of robotic faces in search of a warm body” - because you are. The internet is no longer about information. It’s about survival of attention, autonomy, and authenticity. We are already inside the simulation. The real question is whether you can still find the exit. Or if you have become part of its script.
