not dissimilar from the Westboro Baptist Church, Stand Up To Racism have no limits on where they'll go to harass everyday people. it's quite ironic; anti-racists showing up to protest a vigil for a teenage boy who died from a racist attack. then they pretend to give a shit.

Rip off Britain has a toxic combination of high bills and low wages. We need to move power and wealth from the super rich and put it back into our communities. We are offering hope and a plan. Vote Green in Makerfield. Join.greenparty.org.uk

Deeply saddened by the horrific murder of Henry Nowak and my heartfelt condolences to Henry’s family. But beware those cunningly politicising people’s pain; scapegoating and throwing under the bus the whole Sikh community, based on the actions of just one violent individual. 1/2

@vladdie777 @BasilTheGreat yep. the exact words were "beat up", which is even further away from a stabbing than the word assaulted

@welshmaan @BasilTheGreat They didn't even tell the ambulance that he might have been STABBED. They only said assaulted which could just be a punch. Henry told them he had been stabbed repeatedly. These officers must face manslaughter charges.

I am entirely uninterested in making exemptions for un-British religious practices. What would Restore Britain do? Halal slaughter, banned. The kirpan, banned, Kosher slaughter, banned. The burqa, banned. All of it, banned. This is Britain - we do things our way.

@JamesMelville Datacenters like this cause big enough water issues in large U.S. states, let alone smalltown Scotland. Terrible idea. Our electricity costs in the UK would make this pointless too.

Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 One of the world’s biggest AI data centres is being proposed for construction in Fife. No one voted for this. The local community are concerned about this. A 600MW facility of this size traditionally requires millions of litres of water per day and is estimated that the site will consume the equivalent energy of 1.3 million households. The proposed development as being larger than the neighbouring village (Auchtertool) itself. Plans reportedly include multiple buildings reaching up to 35 metres in height, along with substations, roads, security infrastructure and extensive industrial landscaping. This is not a modest technology park. It is industrial vandalism of a beautiful rural landscape on a colossal scale with horrendous impacts on wildlife habitats, landscape character and historic heritage. A 600MW data centre would convert almost all of the electricity it consumes into heat, potentially releasing around 600MW of thermal energy—equivalent to the massive waste heat output of a large power station. Community campaigners against the data centre monstrosity have criticised the application for lacking clear information about final energy demand, water consumption, heat generation and operational impacts. AI companies and cloud-computing giants are among the wealthiest corporations in human history. They require ever-expanding networks of data centres to fuel machine-learning systems, automated content generation and commercial AI products. Yet ordinary residents are being asked to accept landscape degradation, infrastructure pressure and uncertainty in order to facilitate that mega tech corporation growth. Hopefully the local communities can get the support and voice required to put enormous pressure on the government to axe this appalling scheme that no one actually voted for.
