I've gained several followers since Monday night. Welcome! I'd like to do a thread to (re)introduce myself. My name is Jim Wertz, and I'm the Democratic nominee for State Senate District 49. This district is composed of all but four municipalities in Erie County, Pennsylvania.

This council seat is currently held by Councilman @AndreHortonD2. I’m grateful to Councilman Horton for his service on County Council for the last 12 years & for the partnerships we've shared on many critical issues. I'm proud to have his support as we kick off this campaign.

I’m so excited to share that I’m running for Erie County Council! County council oversees election administration and the functioning of health and human services departments that are vital resources to people across the county.

As a former member of NABET-CWA, I'd like to extend a big congratulations to SAG-AFTRA's members at WESA & WYEP for finalizing their first union contract!

If you’re an Erie Co. voter who hasn’t received your mail ballot you may: 1. Go to the County Courthouse (140 W. 6th) to cancel your ballot and vote over the counter or 2. vote provisionally at your polling place on election day. (These votes ARE counted after they are verified!)
