@KevHughesie Yeah that’s a fair point mate. His drop off really is alarming. It’s funny because at start of season someone said at this point you’d be 5th and in semi final of Europa just 1 goal behind, we’d all take it but the way it’s panned out, it feels all different.

@wesrob84 Luiz playing around 20 minutes of football in our last four games suggests to me that there’s a reason he’s suddenly getting zero game time - and it’s not just performance related. IMO.

@KevHughesie Fair point. I presumed Luiz not being involved on Sunday was precautionary to Onana missing on Thursday but then again a Luiz/Tielemans partnership, concerns me, and he’s been a shadow since he rejoined. It’s been a funny end of season really.

Big games require big players and were was ours? Rogers, Tielemans, McGinn, Watkins all pretty anonymous tonight. Only Martinez as usual turns up when the heat is on. We have a fairly casual team, winds me up in games like that. Far too nice. Onana injured is a huge miss. #AVFC

We are still massively in the tie. No doubt about it and Villa will fancy themselves at home next week but then again so will Forest. Clear penalty all day for me, absolute ridiculous from Lucas Digne who should know a lot better. #AVFC

@TotalVilla_ Not for me. Only time this season I’ve felt comfortable with Ty is when defending our box, Torres isn’t as physical but can still defend and with the ball at his feet he is miles better than TM. He worries me these days. We are better team when it’s Konsa/Torres.

Villa then reds… First and foremost, I’d like to put on record how much I admire Villa as a football club. They are the best set of fans to converse with in this league, they have history as a club and I think Emery is the second best manager in the league. It’s great to see them thriving and I think we have tried to emulate them as much as we can over the last 2-3 seasons. Onwards to the game itself. I think it’ll be cagey, chaotic and an event where our two historic clubs can share a platform on a huge stage and one that we should cherish. Villa have the better manager, a better squad, better individuals but none of the above is by far so it’s whether we can find those fine margins elsewhere to close the gap. Much of my levels of confidence will come from if we are able to somehow get Cunha fit as the alternative option up against Roger’s/Watkins and McGinn is unfathomable. Let’s all enjoy the tie, let’s keep it respectful and hopefully the best side over the two legs can then go on to collect the trophy in Istanbul. #NFFC #AVFC
