Lots of uprooted trees in west Escambia County. Here, Savannah is pointing to a staff plate and pressure transducer that used to be at the bottom of the stream channel but was pulled upward when a nearby tree was blown over.

Rainfall and runoff from #HurricaneSally pushed some fine sediment into this front yard.

More debris at our Bay Street site in Gulf Breeze. Looks like our instrumentation held on. And this is a channel that is in bad need of an ecologically oriented restoration project.

Checking out stormwater infrastructure in "Unnamed tributary to Jackson Creek" near Pensacola, FL. Grad students Kaitlyn and Ronell will be collecting and analyzing discharge and water quality from this site (and 9 others nearby) later this year.

Bottomland hardwoods are an important but ignored ecosystem in FL. Our new mega project will study ecology and hydrology of these forests in Apalachicola River Floodplain, establishing a network of long term plots for forest and hydro monitoring. @westFLwaters @ApalachRiver @UF
