Manu Koné to Arsenal? I genuinely hope this is one of those links where the club is simply gathering information rather than actively pushing for a deal. The reports say Arsenal have established contacts and are interested, but no official offer has been made. That alone makes me wonder whether this is a serious target or just another player being assessed as part of the club's recruitment process. From what I've seen, Manu Koné is not the level Arsenal should be aiming for right now. Yes, he's aggressive, wins tackles, covers ground and brings energy to midfield. Nobody can deny that. But football at the highest level is about much more than tackling. When I watch Arsenal under Arteta, I see a team that values technical security, quick passing, progression through midfield and intelligence on the ball. That's where my concerns begin. His passing isn't convincing enough for me. Too many times he looks uncomfortable when asked to dictate play or move the ball quickly under pressure. Arsenal need midfielders who can control games, not just break them up. We already have players who can do the dirty work. What we need are players who can elevate the team technically and make the difference in the biggest matches. We've reached a point where Arsenal shouldn't be signing players because they're decent. We should be signing players because they're exceptional. Unless Arsenal just want a cheaper bench player. Maybe Arteta and the recruitment team see qualities that fans don't. They've earned a level of trust after transforming this squad. But as a fan looking from the outside, I don't watch Manu Koné and think, "That's the midfielder who takes Arsenal to another level." For me, this feels more like Arsenal checking the market and doing their due diligence than a genuine priority target. If he signs, I'll support him like every Arsenal player. But if you're asking for my honest football opinion, Arsenal can and should do better than Manu Koné.
